Heavenly Father,
Today, on this National Day of Prayer, May 7th, we come before You united in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ. We humble ourselves before Your throne and acknowledge that You alone are God. You are holy, righteous, faithful, merciful, and true. You are the hope of the nations, the defender of the weak, the protector of the righteous, and the source of all wisdom, peace, and life.
Lord, we pray for the United States of America.
We thank You for Your hand upon this nation throughout history. We thank You for every revival, every awakening, every missionary, every preacher, every praying grandmother, every patriot, and every believer who has stood for truth and righteousness in this land. We recognize that every blessing we have comes from You.
Father, we repent today for the sins of our nation. Forgive us for pride, rebellion, greed, corruption, immorality, violence, hatred, division, lawlessness, and turning away from Your ways. Forgive us for removing You from places where You once were honored. Forgive us for the shedding of innocent blood. Forgive us for calling evil good and good evil. Lord, cleanse this land and heal this nation.
Your Word declares:
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” 2 Chronicles 7:14 NKJV
Father, today we cry out for healing over America.
We pray for a mighty spiritual awakening to sweep across this nation from coast to coast. Let there be another Great Awakening in America. Let churches be filled again with hungry hearts. Let altars be crowded with people surrendering to Jesus Christ. Let there be repentance, holiness, deliverance, salvation, miracles, healings, signs, and wonders throughout this land.
Wake up the church in America, Lord.
Remove complacency, compromise, lukewarmness, fear, and distraction. Raise up pastors and leaders who will preach the full counsel of God without fear or apology. Raise up evangelists with fire in their bones. Raise up intercessors who will travail in prayer. Raise up bold believers who will stand for righteousness in every sphere of influence.
Father, bring unity to the body of Christ. Tear down division, slander, bitterness, jealousy, offense, and confusion. Remind us that we are one body under one Savior, Jesus Christ. Let the church stop fighting each other and start reaching the lost.
Lord, we pray for the people of America. We pray for every family, every child, every mother, every father, every elderly person, every young person, every struggling person, and every prodigal son and daughter. Let hope return to this nation. Break the spirit of depression, addiction, su***de, hopelessness, anxiety, fear, and confusion. Heal broken homes. Restore marriages. Deliver those trapped in darkness. Save those who are far from You.
We pray for a great harvest of souls in America. Let millions come to know Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in this hour. Let there be a revival of truth, purity, and holiness. Let the fear of the Lord return to this nation.
Father, we pray for the safety and protection of America.
Place Your hedge of protection around this nation. Protect our borders, our cities, our schools, our churches, our infrastructure, and our communities. Expose every evil plot, every act of terrorism, every scheme of violence, and every hidden work of darkness before it can prosper. Let no weapon formed against this nation prosper.
We pray specifically for our first responders.
Lord, protect every police officer, sheriff deputy, firefighter, EMT, paramedic, dispatcher, and emergency worker serving throughout this nation. Give them wisdom, discernment, courage, and protection as they serve their communities. Strengthen them mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. Protect their families and bless their homes. Let them know they are appreciated and honored.
Father, we pray for our military and our troops around the world.
Protect every soldier, sailor, airman, marine, coast guardsman, and member of our armed forces. Cover them with Your protection wherever they are stationed. Guard them from harm, danger, ambush, trauma, and fear. Strengthen their minds and hearts. Bring comfort to military families waiting at home. Let Your peace surround them. We pray for righteous leadership, wisdom, and protection over our military operations.
Lord, we pray for the President of the United States and this administration.
Your Word tells us to pray for those in authority. So today we lift up our president, vice president, cabinet members, advisors, Congress, governors, judges, and leaders at every level of government. Grant them wisdom, discernment, humility, and the fear of the Lord. Surround them with godly counsel. Expose corruption and remove deception. Let righteousness prevail over wickedness. Guide our leaders to make decisions that honor truth, protect freedom, uphold justice, and preserve peace.
Father, we pray for revival in our schools and universities. Protect our children from confusion and deception. Raise up a generation that loves truth and righteousness. Let young people encounter the living God in a powerful way. Raise up fearless young evangelists, worshippers, missionaries, and leaders.
Lord, we pray against division in America. Heal racial division, political hatred, bitterness, violence, and unrest. Bring healing where there has been pain. Bring unity where there has been division. Let truth and love prevail.
Father, we declare that America still belongs to You.
We ask for mercy over judgment. We ask for revival instead of destruction. We ask for awakening instead of apathy. We ask for repentance instead of rebellion.
Lord, let this National Day of Prayer be more than a tradition. Let it mark the beginning of something powerful in this nation. Let homes become houses of prayer again. Let fathers lead their families in prayer again. Let churches become houses of repentance, holiness, healing, and revival again.
Jesus, be exalted over America.
Be exalted over our government.
Be exalted over our schools.
Be exalted over our churches.
Be exalted over our homes.
Be exalted over our military.
Be exalted over our cities.
Be exalted over every state in this nation.
We declare that Jesus Christ is Lord over the United States of America.
And Father, we thank You because You are not finished with this nation yet. We thank You because revival still belongs to You. We thank You because Your mercy endures forever. We thank You because no matter how dark the hour becomes, Your light still shines brighter.
We place America into Your hands today.
In the mighty, powerful, and precious name of Jesus Christ we pray,
