Mission

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Four-Way Test

The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions:

Of the things we think, say or do

1. Is it FAIR to all c

oncerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

• FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
• SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
• THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
• FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Today, we remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day is more than a long weekend — it’s a time to reflect on the courage, service, and sacrifice of those who gave everything for our country.

We remember. We honor. We thank you.

One of our favorite things to do each year is to celebrate our students that have volunteered their time for our projects throughout their High School career. Congrats to the Midwest City High School Seniors who received our Rotary Scholarships.

One of the most well-known educational resources in Rotary International history is "The ABCs of Rotary" by Clifford L. Dochterman. The book is a collection of short stories, traditions, and explanations designed to help Rotarians better understand the culture, values, and history behind the organization. Rather than functioning like a rulebook, it shares the “why” behind Rotary customs, leadership structures, fellowship traditions, and service programs in a conversational and accessible format.

Originally created from weekly “Did Ya Know?” articles, the content eventually became one of Rotary’s most widely shared educational publications. It explores topics ranging from the origins of the Four-Way Test to the meaning of “Service Above Self,” while also highlighting Rotary’s emphasis on ethics, friendship, mentorship, and international understanding. Many clubs still use excerpts today for member education and leadership development because the lessons remain practical, thoughtful, and rooted in Rotary’s long-standing mission of service.

One interesting tidbit from the book is that Rotarians traditionally address one another by first name regardless of profession or status, reinforcing the idea that fellowship and equality are central to Rotary culture.
