2.

Mission

The mission of Rotary International is to provide service to others, promote integrity, and advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through its fellowship of business, professional, and community leaders. The Four-Way Test

The test, which has been translated into more than 100 languages, asks the following questions:

Of the things we think, say or do

1. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned? The Object of Rotary

The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

• FIRST: The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service;
• SECOND: High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful
occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society;
• THIRD: The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life;
• FOURTH: The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service.

Today is World Polio Day, a time to reflect on a promise Rotary made to children four decades ago: a world free from this devastating disease.

When Rotary and our partners launched the Global Polio Eradication Initiative in 1988, polio paralyzed hundreds of thousands of children each year. Since then, Rotary members, donors, our partners, and health workers have helped reduce polio cases by more than 99.9%. This progress was made possible by people who chose to act.

People like you.

Through your support of The Rotary Foundation, vaccines have reached children in communities around the globe. Together, we’ve moved closer than ever to a world where no child has to experience the effects of polio.

But our work continues. Wild poliovirus remains endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan, and until polio is eradicated everywhere, children everywhere remain at risk.

This World Polio Day, you can take action by:
Donating to our PolioPlus Fund
Starting a fundraiser on Raise for Rotary
Viewing and sharing Trustee Chair Jennifer Jones’ message about ending polio
Every contribution helps sustain our progress and supports the work still needed to reach every child. Thank you for uniting with us on World Polio Day to create a future where polio exists only in history books.

Today, we took 44 students University of Tulsa. They rolled out the red carpet for our students by giving them a full tour and goody bags with a shirt, pen and info folder.

I’d like to say this would NOT be possible without the financial support of this amazing club and our member, Ed Miller and Coach Case for driving!

Students who visit college campuses are much more likely to attend one. This is an annual even on our calendar. So far, we’ve visited UCO, Langston and OU. This was the best tour so far.

Did you know their annual tuition is $25,000 and that’s locked in for your four years there. We learned lots of fun facts and are excited about the prospect of our students attending there.

We would love to have you join and help us provide “Service Above Self” right here in Midwest City. If you’ve thought about it before, or even if we’ve never been on your radar, please reach out and we’d love to tell you more!
