In the summer of 1952, five women asked a former missionary, Audrey Wetherell Johnson, to teach them the book of Colossians. From that earliest group, the model for Bible Study Fellowship was born. Those first women were so deeply transformed by the power of God’s Word that they shared their experience with anyone who would listen.

Today, BSF has expanded to nearly every country worldwide. As our ministry continues to grow, our work remains the same: advancing God’s Word one person, one family, one community, and one country at a time.

We celebrate the life of Rosemary Jensen and honor her faithful leadership as BSF Executive Director from 1980-2000.

During her tenure as BSF’s second Executive Director, classes grew from 280 to 971 and The Life of Moses and Romans studies were added. But the totality of her impact cannot be measured this side of eternity.

We remember that we study and serve in BSF today because others walked faithfully before us. We thank God for Rosemary Jensen and her shaping influence on the ministry of BSF. While we miss her, we celebrate her entry into heaven to join her Lord and Savior. Please join us in praying for her family.

The book of Romans is clear: we cannot save ourselves.

But it also makes clear that this is GOOD news. We aren't dependent on our own efforts or striving to make us right with God. Instead, it is only through God's transforming work that we are changed from the inside out.

And this transformation doesn't just happen when we are saved - it is something that God works out in us every single day.

What is Romans really all about?
You might first think of a familiar verse or a challenging passage from this book. But what is it REALLY about?

Grace. Hope. Transformation.

Romans is all about the gospel - not only what it means to accept it, but how we can be transformed by it day by day. Romans provides the encouragement and instruction we need on a daily basis. It teaches us to treasure Christ and cling to Him as we strive to live for Him daily.
