OUR 40-DAY SUMMER SABBATICAL ENDS TODAY
On July 1, our ministry began a 40-day Summer Sabbatical. Today, August 9, that sacred time of rest comes to an end. Tomorrow, August 10, we will resume our regularly scheduled services with renewed strength, clearer direction, and grateful hearts.
These 40 days have taught me again that there must be a time to reset, refocus, rest, and restructure. We cannot continue giving our best to others if we never allow Yahweh to restore us personally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.
For some people, a ministry sabbatical may seem strange. We have been taught to believe that pastors and ministry leaders must always be available, present, and accounted for 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
But that is not what Yahweh teaches us.
Rest is not laziness. Rest is not abandonment. Rest is not a lack of commitment. Rest is a gift, a command, and a part of divine order.
Even Yeshua told His disciples, “Come ye yourselves apart into a desert place, and rest a while” (Mark 6:31).
Many people are sick, weak, exhausted, and overwhelmed. Some, I believe, have even left this earth prematurely because they did not understand one simple but powerful principle:
REST.
We cannot keep pouring from an empty vessel. We cannot ignore our bodies, silence our emotions, neglect our families, and call constant exhaustion faithfulness. There comes a time when we must step away from the noise so we can hear Yahweh clearly again.
During these past 40 days, the LORD Elohim revealed so much to me about me. He showed me what must remain, what must change, what must end, and what I must do NEXT.
During this sabbatical, I completed my book, “The Next Chapter Framework(TM),” and saw it published on Amazon. I also restructured my coaching and consulting business and began rebranding myself.
I am no longer trying to do a host of things simply because I have the ability to do them. I am becoming more focused on the main things Yahweh has assigned me to do in this season.
He has shown me clearly.
Now, the next chapter of my life begins.
I have stepped into a new journey, and I am walking forward with expectation. I believe the LORD will do great and mighty things—not simply for me, but through me for the people I am called to serve.
I understand more clearly that I am called to be a minister in the marketplace—an apostolic leader who helps uplift others and guide them toward the purpose God ordained for them from the beginning of time.
I now understand where my platform and pulpit are.
For some, the primary pulpit may be inside a brick-and-mortar church building. For me, the platform is global.
It is helping someone write the book.
It is helping someone build the school.
It is encouraging someone to start the hospital.
It is guiding someone to open the business or develop the mall.
It is helping a leader establish the worldwide ministry that Yahweh placed within their spirit.
Ministry is more than standing behind a pulpit.
Ministry happens in the home, the school, the doctor’s office, the marketplace, the playground, the football field, the movie theater, and throughout our communities.
Wherever you can shine the light of the Messiah—Yeshua HaMashiach, Jesus our Messiah—you have an opportunity to minister.
When you lend a helping hand, offer a kind word, share godly wisdom, provide instruction, encourage a broken heart, or help someone move toward their purpose, you are participating in the work of ministry.
I did not fully understand this years ago.
But today, it is rhema. It is alive. It is real to my very soul.
As this sabbatical ends, I return rested, renewed, refocused, and restructured. I am not returning to do everything the old way. I am returning with greater clarity concerning the next assignment.
To everyone who prayed for us, respected this time of rest, and continued to stand with the ministry: thank you. Your love, patience, and prayers have meant more than words can express.
And to anyone who is tired today, please hear my heart:
You have permission to rest.
You have permission to breathe.
You have permission to become still before Yahweh.
You have permission to reset before beginning again.
Rest does not mean your calling is over. Sometimes rest is how Yahweh prepares you for what is next.
Our 40-day Summer Sabbatical ends today.
Tomorrow, we return.
But we are not returning the same.
The next chapter is now—and we are walking forward with renewed faith, restored strength, clearer vision, and great expectation.
