Thank you for joining us in the celebration and sacrifice of our Memorial Day Mass at St. Mary Cemetery in Menasha. It was a blessed experience as we prayed for the repose of the souls of the deceased members of the military from our parishes, remembering their bravery and sacrifice. Father Matthew reflected on this as well as the memorial of the day, The Memorial of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of the Church, together in his homily that day.
Mary and the Church are one in the same.
"When Jesus saw his mother and the disciple there whom he loved, he said to his mother, 'Woman, behold, your son.' Then he said to the disciple, 'Behold, your mother.' And from that hour the disciple took her into his home." - John 19:26-27
May our deceased brothers and sisters of the military rest in peace, and may we all find the true home of the fullness of joy through Mary the the Church in Jesus.
We hope you can join us for our next Mass at the St. Mary Cemetery Chapel in Menasha for All Souls' Day and for next year's Memorial Day Mass.
May the peace of Christ be with you now and always.
