We primarily serve women and churches in the Memphis, Tennessee area. Our primary offering is an annual retreat called Story & Soul Weekend.

At Christmas when we’re pondering “the Word became flesh,” it can be very worshipful to slow down and use our own hands to create something beautiful. Join Lindsey Ray—a mom of three and ray of sunshine—as she helps us create a custom Christmas ornament featuring an embroidered word that will help us remember this special season every Christmas season.

In the Old Testament, God Himself encourages His people to wear His Word on their bodies, so that they are never far from a reminder of truth. Join Megan Morris, a local mom, candle-maker, and Story & Soul’s Creative Director, as she invites us to consider what part of God’s Word God is inviting us to carry with us. After some reflection, we’ll craft together to make a personalized set of bracelets that can remind you of truth in your everyday life. Note: This breakout session has a $10 supply fee.

As the Director of Admissions, Dean of Women, and an Associate Professor of Women’s Studies in Theology at Mid-America Baptist Theological Seminary, Candi Finch loves training others to know and share the gospel. In her breakout session “How We Got the Bible,” Candi will help us better understand how the world’s most famous book came to be—and why you can trust that it is truly the Word of God.

As women of the Word, we must give special attention to the new command Jesus gave: “Love one another as I have loved you.” In a world where love is so often distorted and self-seeking, how can we embrace this word and experience the true joy of the Lord in our relationships? Join Danielle Shelley, a former missionary, homeschooling mom, and Bible teacher as she dives into 1 John and helps us (1) consider the love of the Trinity, the only perfectly loving community, and (2) search out how we can better reflect, experience, and share the great love of God.

Although her church family often benefits from her service on the worship team, Becca Sayger endured a difficult five years in which she completely lost her singing voice. However, in the midst of it she learned a humility and perspective for worship worth more than any song. Join Becca, a former high school teacher and current stay-at-home mom with her baby girl Lanie Kate, as she shares her story and through it, encourages and equips you to worship the Lord in spirit and in truth.
