What happens when we die? The answer might surprise you. Itā€™s not just about a location called heavenā€”itā€™s about WHO weā€™re going to. Jesus prayed in John 17 that we would be invited into the same intimate love shared between the Father, Son, and Spirit. Thatā€™s our true reward.

Throughout Scripture, people like Enoch, Abraham, Moses, and David understood this. God told Abraham, ā€œI am your shield, your exceedingly great rewardā€ (Genesis 15:1). Mary chose to sit at Jesusā€™ feet while Martha stayed busy with tasks. Jesus said Mary chose the better portionā€”presence over productivity.

The tragedy isnā€™t losing blessings. Itā€™s living so busy that Jesus never gets your time. Heā€™s inviting you to HIMSELF, not just a place. When will you set aside intentional time this week for secret prayer? Where will your meeting place with God be? Love always makes time. Love finds a way.

The First Words of the Gospel
1/25/2026:

Imagine seeing someone drowning and walking past them. Unthinkable, right? Yet how often do we see people drowning in sin and do nothing?

Jesus' first words in the Gospel still echo today: "The time has come. The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news" (Mark 1:14-15). This isn't adviceā€”it's a declaration. A lifeline thrown to all who are sinking.

Like the father running to embrace his lost son in Luke 15, God doesn't just accept us back as servantsā€”He restores us as His children. He clothes us in robes, puts rings on our fingers, and all of heaven rejoices over one sinner who repents. That's the power of the Gospel.

The question is: Do we believe it enough to share it? People around us are drowning. The kingdom is near. Let's not stay silent. Who will you pray for this week?

Good morning everyone. Our next time of worship is this Sunday at 10 AM. If you are not attending our Zoom worship, you are cordially invited to join us here on Facebook where we will be streaming live at a couple of minutes after 10 AM. If you would like to join us in the Zoom Gallery, please message me privately and I will provide you with a link if there are available seats left. I will be making a follow-up statement to the one I made last Sunday concerning the events surrounding the murder of George Floyd and others based on what I have learned, studied, researched, and prayed about in the past few days.
