The p
urpose of Bethel Baptist Church:
1. TO worship and serve God and to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as set forth in Matthew 28:19-20.
2. TO minister to the needs of the members and others in the Love of Christ.
3. TO fulfill the work of the church as we uphold our motto: Bethel Baptist Church is a church “where everybody is somebody and Jesus Christ is Lord.”

OUR BLESSED HERITAGE:
God placed the desire to begin a church on Bro Claude Prince's heart in the mid 1970s. after much prayer and seeking GOd, It was in 1977 that eleven charter members began what God led them to name Bethel Missionary Baptist Church in the city of McKenzie, TN. The first place of meeting was in March of 1977 in a rented building on Barksdale Avenue. It was on May 18, 1977 that God led the group of believers to the current plot of land on Highway 22. The basement was completed and the first service held on June 1, 1978. As God continued to bless the faith of this new congregation, a building was constructed on top of the basement for a sanctuary and classes. The first worship service was held in the completed building on Sunday, April 6th, 1980 with a record breaking attendance.
