On Sunday, August 9, Riverside welcomed guest preacher Audrey Moore, CEO of Lift Up the Vulnerable. Audrey told us about her friend and colleague Ezekiel Ayub, LUV’s indigenous leader in Sudan, who has spent more than a decade caring for orphaned and vulnerable children in the Nuba Mountains.
On July 29, Ezekiel was detained by military authorities while traveling to South Sudan to support the children in his care. No charges or explanation have been given, and he remains without access to legal counsel, visitors, wellness checks, or communication with his family.
Lift Up the Vulnerable is holding a three-day prayer vigil for Ezekiel, the children of Our Father’s Cleft, and all those affected by the continuing violence in Sudan. Please join us in praying for Ezekiel’s safety and release, protection for the children and their caregivers, and peace in the Nuba Mountains.
