Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry

Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry A parish of the Reformed Catholic Church dedicated to recognizing the face of Christ in marginalized people.

Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry is a small but growing Christian community dedicated to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ through worship, compassionate presence, and community-based outreach. Rooted in the Anglican tradition, the ministry seeks to create a welcoming spiritual home for people from all walks of life, with particular attention given to those who often feel overlooked or excluded f

rom traditional church settings. Inspired by the biblical figure of Saint Cleophas, who encountered the risen Christ while walking the road to Emmaus, our ministry believes that Christ continues to meet people in the ordinary journeys of life—often in unexpected places and among unexpected companions. Our mission is to walk alongside our neighbors, offering prayer, friendship, and the hope of the Gospel in practical and meaningful ways. At the heart of Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry is reverent and accessible worship centered on the Holy Eucharist. The ministry uses the historic liturgy of the Anglican tradition, drawing from the 1979 Book of Common Prayer, the 1662 Anglican lectionary, and the Hymnal 1982. This form of worship connects our community with the rich spiritual heritage of the Church while remaining welcoming and accessible to those who may be new to liturgical worship. In addition to regular Sunday services, the ministry offers weekday worship, Bible study, pastoral care, and opportunities for prayer and spiritual formation. These gatherings are intentionally small and relational, fostering an environment where individuals can ask questions, grow in faith, and build meaningful relationships within a supportive Christian community. A defining characteristic of Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry is its commitment to serving people who experience social and economic marginalization, including individuals facing housing insecurity, poverty, or social isolation. Many members of the community come from backgrounds where traditional church participation may have felt difficult or inaccessible. The ministry therefore emphasizes hospitality, dignity, and authentic human connection as essential expressions of Christian faith. Rather than operating as a large institutional program, Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry functions as a relational and community-based mission, meeting people where they are and walking alongside them in friendship and spiritual support. Through pastoral presence, prayer, and shared community life, the ministry seeks to embody Christ’s commandment to “love one another.”

The ministry also actively collaborates with local churches, community organizations, and civic partners in Martinsville and the surrounding region. These partnerships strengthen the ministry’s ability to serve the community while fostering unity among people of faith who share a common commitment to compassion and service. Looking toward the future, Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry hopes to continue expanding its capacity to provide spiritual care, community gathering spaces, and opportunities for worship and formation. As the ministry grows, its vision remains rooted in a simple but profound calling: to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to gather around the table of the Lord, and to build a community where all people can encounter the transforming love of God. In every aspect of its life together, Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry strives to embody the spirit of the Emmaus story—walking with others, sharing the Word, breaking bread together, and discovering that Christ is present among us.

🇺🇸 Memorial Day Office Closure 🇺🇸

Please note that the office of Saint Cleophas Outreach Ministry will be closed tomorrow, Monday, in observance of Memorial Day.

As we enjoy time with family and friends, let us also pause to remember with gratitude those who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice is a solemn reminder that freedom is never without cost.

We offer our prayers for the fallen, for their families, and for all who continue to bear the wounds of war and service.

“Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” — John 15:13

The office will reopen on Tuesday at the usual time.

May God bless you, and may God bless and keep those whom we remember this Memorial Day. 🇺🇸
