Good Monday Morning! We are currently in a sermon series about the life of Joseph. So many lessons in this story! After all, there are 13 chapters devoted to it! It is a story of human frailty, the call of God, family dysfunction, sin, dark times, forgiveness and redemption. Human behavior did not thwart God's purpose. In His mercy, He wove it into His plan. God is always at work. Joseph maintained his devotion to God and maintained his integrity. Let us stay faithful to God no matter what others do and trust God to do His work. Have a good week!

"A word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in a setting of silver." Proverbs 25:11 ESV. Throughout our days we have opportunities to speak words of encouragement and peace to others. Let's look for ways that we can bless others with our words. It costs us nothing, but makes a great impact. Have a good week!

"Oh, no! I forgot!" It happens to all of us, we can easily forget. Depending on what it is, forgetting can have an impact on our day. So, we put "helps" in place. We set an alarm, put it on a calendar, or we ask someone to remind us. Deuteronomy 4:9 says, "Only be careful and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them." (NIV) Let's take action and use helps to remember what the Lord has done for us. It might be developing the habit of stating gratefulness first and last thing of the day, posting a scripture where you can see it, or journaling. We are encouraged to talk about the things the Lord has done, especially to the next generation. Just like we take steps to make sure we remember appointments, special days or even a task, let's also "be careful and watch closely" to remember what God has done. Have a good week!

Thank God it's Monday! You don't hear that very often, do you? We usually say/hear that at the end of the week ("Thank God it's Friday.") In fact, Monday takes the brunt of negative comments. If we can't focus, make mistakes, we blame it on being a Monday. It doesn't have to be that way. We can choose to say, "Thank God it's Monday" with expectation of good things and opportunities to serve God and bless others. Psalms 118:24: "This is the day the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it." Happy Monday!

In Acts 3, Peter and John tell a lame man (who was begging at the temple gate): "Silver or gold I do not have but what I have I give you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk." Friends, if you have Christ, you have EVERYTHING. He is the source of all that we need. He is the source of what our family and friends need. Let's rely on Him for our strength this week. Let's also be aware and available to the needs of those around us. Have a good week!

Midweek Moment: Here we are, in the middle of the week. How's it going? There is a worship song that has been very meaningful and helpful to me. It starts like this: "God I look to You, I won't be overwhelmed, give me wisdom, to see things like You do. God I look to You, You're where my help comes from. Give me wisdom, You know just what to do..." Do you feel the time is dragging and you wonder how you're going to get through the next days? Or has the time flown by and you dont know how you'll get everything done? Take time to talk to God. He can turn those feelings of being overwhelmed to peaceful clarity and direction. Isaiah 26:3 NLT "You will keep in perfect peace all who trust in You, all whose thoughts are fixed on You!"

This past weekend we celebrated the freedom we enjoy as citizens of America. This freedom came and continues to come at great cost. Let us also remember to celebrate with thankfulness the freedom that Christ purchased for us with His immeasurable sacrifice. We celebrate our dual citizenship!

You may have heard the quote, "It's not the destination, it's the journey." Sounds flowery doesn't it? But for the Christian, it IS the destination! It's having the hope of Heaven that compels us on the journey! It is the sacrifice of Jesus so that we could be on this journey to Heaven. And because of Him, we do have joy and confidence on the way! Philippians 3:20: "But our citizenship is in Heaven. And we eagerly await a Savior from there, the Lord Jesus Christ." Enjoy your week!
