January… hot, rainy, busy, and full of the Lord’s blessings. This is a very accurate way to describe the first month of 2026. Not only does January start the new year, but it also triggers the beginning of the SCHOOL year for us here in Brazil.
Our precious Emma Rose started first grade! 🥺😭 How can that be?! We are so proud of her courage, caring heart, and her progress with Portuguese. JD says that she has already passed him and she loves to help her daddy with his pronunciation of words! 🤭🤗
Noah began his first very year of school! I just can’t believe that my little buddy is off to K4. When I see my children walk out that door for the first time off on a new adventure without me it feels like a little piece of my heart is being ripped out. Of course, I am so excited for them and for all that they will learn in Brazilian school, but at the same time I am so sad to see such a special season come to an end. How blessed I am to have been able to stay home with my young children. What a blessing to be a mom!
Ellie Kate turned three at the end of January and tried to convince me to let her go to school with her older siblings, but I would not be swayed! 😂
Would you please pray for my kids this year at school?! Emma communicates very well, but Noah still only knows the basics of Portuguese. So to be at school and hear your teacher and your classmates speaking in a different language that you don’t understand completely can be very overwhelming at times.
Our Christian school now has 99 students, (praise the Lord!!!) many of whom come from unsaved families. Please pray that my kids will be a bright light for the Lord where God has placed them and that they will have courage to share God’s love with their friends.
Here are a few pictures of my cuties on the first day of school… ❤️
