We provide resources, teaching, speaking, consulting and training opportunities that help you live, work and lead from a full tank. Unhurried living isn’t about being lazy. It is about having perspective and resources to work better. Unhurried living isn’t about an empty calendar, it’s about a full soul. What if your life and work was an expression of deep and abundant overflow? The work you do might not change very much, but transforming who you are as you do it will change everything. Are interruptions ruining your peace, or shaping your spiritual growth?

In this Unhurried Living Podcast episode, Gem Fadling | Spiritual Director shares a childhood story about dandelions, clover, and learning to see beauty where others see weeds.
Drawing from Henri Nouwen’s wisdom in Reaching Out, she explores how interruptions, disappointments, and unexpected detours may actually be opportunities for
deeper spiritual formation.

If you’ve ever struggled with frustration, disappointment, or feeling thrown off course, this conversation will help you reframe life’s “weeds” as invitations to fullness.

Most people think vision is just what’s visible on the outside — a goal, a plan, a direction.

but the deeper work? It’s about balancing burden & belief at the same time.

Like Nehemiah, who saw the ruins but also believed in rebuilding.

For us, holding pain and hope simultaneously isn’t just a leadership skill — it’s faith in motion. This rhythm of burden and belief fuels true vision — whether in ministry or the marketplace.

What’s your take?
Are you holding burden & belief today?
How does that impact your vision?

Maybe this is the real secret to sustainable leadership.

If this notion of burden and belief has you thinking and wanting to know more, listen to the whole Unhurried Living Oodcast episode with Alan Fadling and Eric Geiger

Leadership is like a tree—if the roots aren’t healthy, a storm can topple you even if everything looks fine on the surface.

You can’t see the roots until the storm hits, and that’s when everything falls apart. The challenge? Maintaining those roots daily — staying connected to what gives us life.

Jesus said, “I am the vine, you are the branches” — staying rooted in Him means we don’t have to carry the weight alone. His strength keeps us steady through the storms.

Think about your roots today. Are they strong enough to withstand tomorrow’s storm?

Alan Fadling talks with Eric Geiger on the topic of healthy leadership, this week on the Unhurried Living Podcast.

Ever notice how one memory can quietly shape the way you see yourself, others, and even God?

The stories we carry don’t just live in the past — they can influence what we believe is possible right now. But when those memories are met with love, safety, and truth, something powerful happens: old patterns can soften, and new beliefs can begin to grow.

This is the kind of healing that happens when memory meets compassion.

And sometimes, that’s where freedom starts.

Ever felt like you’re just going through the motions, missing that deeper connection?

In our fast-paced lives, we often overlook the beauty of co-suffering love. Susan Carson beautifully illustrates how this love isn’t just about observing each other’s struggles but truly sharing in them. It’s about finding safety and healing through connection, whether it’s with God or with those around us.

When we allow ourselves to be vulnerable, we open the door to transformative healing. This journey isn’t about quick fixes; it’s about nurturing relationships that help us grow and feel safe.

Let’s remember: healing takes time, and it starts with being held in love.

What’s your favorite way to connect with others on this level?

We recently gather a group of over 40 people to talk spiritual formation. To lean into the ways of Jesus and see how we could all work to created a shared experience of presence and connection.

We had no idea what to expect as this was a first, an event that was birthed out of a nudge from Jesus.

This week, we are stepping away again for our annual July sabbatical. This is a time for us to rest deeply so we can lead with purpose and intention as God has called us to do. One of the greatest gifts we receive is the “nudges” from God as we listen to where he is taking us in the next year.

How would you answer the question “what is the quality of life you want in your next decade?”

For Gem, the answer came in four words:

Free
Meaningful
Rested
Fruitful

Those words became more than aspirations. They became a way of discerning how to cooperate with God’s invitation in this next season of life.

Whether you’re approaching a milestone birthday, navigating a season of transition, or simply sensing it’s time for a reset, this episode is an invitation to slow down and consider what matters most.

What four words would you choose?

There are seasons when faith feels effortless…and seasons when it doesn’t.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering why God seems quiet, or why a once-vibrant faith now feels dry, you’re in good company.

In this week’s episode of the Unhurried Living Podcast, Alan Fadling sits down with Kyle Strobel for an honest conversation about spiritual dryness, the unexpected work God does in the desert, and why these seasons don’t mean you’ve been abandoned.

Sometimes the most encouraging thing we can hear is that what we’re experiencing is part of the journey.

We hope this conversation offers you just that.

Ever felt like God is miles away? It’s not just you.

In our faith journeys, we often experience seasons of distance from God. It’s like the initial excitement fades, and we find ourselves in a desert, wondering if we’ve done something wrong. Many assume they’re alone in this struggle, looking at others who seem to have it all together.

But here’s the truth: it’s a common part of spiritual growth! Just like the Israelites in the desert, we learn about ourselves in these challenging seasons. When we open up and share our experiences, we create space for connection and healing.

Let’s break the silence around these feelings. You’re not alone, and together we can navigate these tough times with
