GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays seminar scheduled
GriefShare: Surviving the Holidays is a helpful, encouraging seminar for people facing the holidays after a loved one’s death. Please join us on Saturday, November 22 at First Lutheran Church Xenia. )re-registration is preferred. The participant fee is $10. Scholarships are available. The cost is [$]. Child care is available.
The seminar features video interviews with counselors, grief experts, and other people who have experienced the holidays after their loved one’s death and who offer practical suggestions and reassurance. These people share honestly about:
• Being prepared for surprising emotions that may hit over the holidays
• What to do about traditions and other coming changes
• How to handle holiday parties and invitations
• How to survive potentially awkward moments with other people
• Where to find comfort, strength, and hope in a seemingly hopeless time
Those who attend will receive a Survival Guide filled with practical tips, encouraging words, journaling ideas, and exercises for daily help through the holiday season.

We’re half way through the work week but our Difference Makers from First Evangelical Lutheran Church - Xenia, Ohio went much further than half way, they tend to go above and beyond! Praise God!

God bless and good evening guys! We hope you’re enjoying this fall weather and the holidays on the horizon! I want to say thank you to all our partners who help make the holidays a little brighter around BoH! Thank you and praise God! Yesterday some of our partners from down the street came in to serve lunch and a little bit more! I was in my office talking to a man who was struggling with some loss in his life. It was eating at him, tormenting him really when all of a sudden Pastor Bill came in to meet him! In case you don’t know he leads a grief share group Wednesdays at 3:30! What a huge blessing that was for me to be able to give the introduction before I had to walk out the door! I love how God arranges meetings like that! He and his team were scheduled to serve lunch but it seems that God had a little something extra in mind! Hallelujah! Thank you First Lutheran for your love and commitment in serving here! You guys rock and He is the Rock from which you were hewn! Thank you for bringing lunch and the love of Jesus!

Lord God, King of kings and Lord of lords we ask you to continue to bless and keep the wonderful people at First Lutheran. Lord please be with their families, friends and fellowship! Draw them near to you and hold them close! Lord Jesus thank you for your people! Please help us all to be more like you each day!

Regretfully, we have cancelled the spring series of GriefShare due to lack of participation. A partner congregation, Abiding Christ Lutheran (Fairborn) matched our schedule: Thursdays, 6:30 p.m., Feb. 6 to May 15.
