For all those who have lost a loved one to su***de, you are not alone. We come together as a community to support you in this grief journey. Pain runs deep, but hope runs deeper.

This Sunday, May 3, our Mental Health Ministry Coordinator, Laura Sokup, and her brother Ben will be running the Eau Claire Marathon in memory of those who have died by su***de and their families and friends. Please pray for her and her brother, and for all those that they are running for! (Laura wrote an article for the March 5 edition of the Catholic Herald about her marathon and about Hope Runs Deep, the running ministry that she created, if you'd like to learn more)
For the past few years, our Mental Health Ministry has helped many local Catholics who are struggling with the grief associated with losing a loved one to su***de. The ministry regularly offers support groups for su***de loss grief specifically, and they have other resources and contacts for other grief support groups. Be sure to check out madisondiocese.org/mhm for some of these resources, and madisondiocese.org/mhsupportgroups to stay informed about when the next su***de loss support group will be offered.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month. As the month approaches, let us pray for all those who are struggling with mental health difficulties, especially those who feel tempted toward self-harm and despair in their trials. May they know that God's love and mercy is available to them, and may they receive the help and support that they need.
