Today, St. Paul United Methodist Church celebrates Juneteenth—a day of freedom, remembrance, and hope. We honor the end of slavery in the United States and reflect on the ongoing journey toward justice, equality, and unity.

Join us in prayer for Spokane County, Washington, as the Upriver Fire continues to quickly spread across the region. Since the fire broke out on Tuesday afternoon, more than 200 acres have burned, nearly 12,000 residents in the densely populated area nearby have been evacuated, and 15 homes have been damaged, with thousands at risk.

As firefighters work to contain the fire, UMCOR is in communication with the Pacific Northwest Annual Conference disaster response coordinator. As the needs of those impacted become known, we stand ready to support their immediate and long-term responses to this disaster.
