This was our second week of the SOAR series for the month of September and Lea Morgan brought us a thought-provoking lesson.
The topic that Lea presented was focused on Renewed Strength in the Lord – how God refreshes and restores us after exhaustion. We are trusting God above all and finding new strength in the Lord when our plates are too full. Lea found the perfect example to use for this week in the story of Elijah from 1 Kings 19. God renewed and sustained Elijah after his encounter with the prophets of Baal and gave him the strength he needed to travel forty days and nights to reach the mountain of God. In order to receive new strength we need to: Rest, Feed ourselves with good things, Thank Him for all He has done and Hear His voice. When we share our burdens with God and our hearts can rest from this weary world. Then we can rejoice in Him - Philippians 4:4-8
Class verse for the month:
"but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
---Isaiah 40:31
