Plain Truth Ministry Unlocking God's truth in an understandable way.

Welcome to Friday in the Word. Today I want to consider the reasons for Jesus coming to the earth in human form. The text to address this comes from Hebrews 2:9-11,14-18. The writer talks about the necessity of Christ being in human form so he could experience the same temptations and suffering as sinful man so that He could fully relate to them in their current state and could help them overcome their bonds and lead them to salvation by God's grace through His blood. Through His own suffering and death as a perfect and sinless man He was able to defeat death and offer an eternity with Him and through Him. I hope you find comfort in today's message. Please consider following Christ with me Plain Truth Ministry. God bless.

Therefore, in all things He had to be made like His brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people. For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to aid those who are tempted. Hebrews 2:17-18

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil, and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bo***ge. Hebrews 2:14-15

For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both He who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren. Hebrews 2:10-11

For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken of by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, God also bearing witness with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will? Hebrews 2:2-4

Welcome to Friday in the Word. Today I want to talk about wheat, tares, and salvation. We'll consider two passages. First is Matthew 13:24-30 (the parable of the wheat and the tares) and second is Luke 13:23-27 (strive to enter through the narrow gate). These two passages talk about things that, at least for a time, look the same but at the end of the day are not. The wheat and the tares looked the same until the wheat matured and bore fruit. The people inside and outside of the kingdom had the same opportunity to accept Christ but only those inside were saved because they chose to serve Christ and bore fruit. The Master will ALWAYS know the difference. He will not be FOOLED. Please consider following Christ with me at Plain Truth Ministry.

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night, in which the heavens will pass away with a great noise, and the elements will melt with fervent heat; both the earth and the works that are in it will be burned up. Therefore, since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be in holy conduct and godliness. 2 Peter 3:10-11

But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some would count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:8-9
