Please be in prayer for Faye Young as well as the rest of the Young family in the days and weeks to come.
David Edward Young, 65, of Jackson, Kentucky, entered eternal rest Wednesday, February 18, 2026 at his home. Born on September 12, 1960 in Dayton, Ohio, David lived a life marked by service, dedication and love for his family and community.
David was a retired correctional officer from the Eastern Kentucky Correctional Complex (EKCC), where he also served as a member of the Crisis Negotiations Team. He later became the first chief of the Quicksand Fire Department when it was founded, leaving an enduring legacy in his community.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, David worked for Star Fire Coal Co. operating a dragline and was known for his strong work ethic and skill in every role he undertook. Beyond his career, David found joy in flying and picture framing and took great pride in working on special projects for his daughter, Kasey.
David was also a US Navy veteran.
David was a man of faith who worshipped at Hampton United Methodist Church in Wolverine. His faith and values were evident in the way he lived his life—always putting others first and making meaningful contributions to those around him.
