Sheviyi Shel Pesach the seventh of Pesach is commemorating the miraculous salvation and miracle of the splitting of the Reed Sea seven days after the Jewish people left Egypt, when they were besieged by Pharoh and his army who pinned them them at the sea. Hashem performed the iconic transcendant wonder of splitting the sea for them, as they walked on dry land, while the Egyptians chasing after them drowned.
Acharon Shel Pesach the eighth and last day of the Holiday is the day of Moshiach the future redemption and there is a stirring and wondrous Haftorah from Isaiah chanted during the morning Services which such famous phrases as "the wolf will lie with the lamb" which refers the the overturning of the natural predatory nature of the world , into the peaceful era of Moshiach!
It also has the Yizkor Memorial Services.
As it is the first Yizkor since the October 7th Massacre, we will be having a special Memorial service for all those who were murdered and those who fell during the Assault and afterwards defending the Jewish people and Israel
Do you ever feel just a wee bit anxious these days? Do events around the world, in our country, or your personal life make you a bit uncomfortable? Does it feel like things are just so unstable and the very ground you stand on isn’t as firm as you’d always hoped it would be?
Well, I certainly feel that way sometimes. It’s only natural with everything going on, after all.
The last day of [Passover/Pesach] is a day to reflect on our future. Specifically, it’s a time to explore the core Jewish belief in the coming of a Messianic age. Our nation has experienced redemptions before, and history has shown that they could literally come in the blink of an eye.
If it happened before, it could happen again.
Join me and others in our community on this final day of Passover, April 30 at 6:00pm for a full-on “Feast of Moshiach, at Chabad of Mt. Olympus, 8124 Laurelmont Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90046 USA. Together, we’ll unpack what it means to do our part in cultivating a harmonious world. We’ll share a final taste of Matzah and wine and join together in discussion and song, and if only for a moment, elevate ourselves to the peaceful world we so desperately need to power us through the rest of the year.
