✨ What if the thing you’re chasing for happiness is actually keeping you from being happy?

We’re constantly looking for happiness in external things: a better job, a better relationship, the next purchase, the next achievement…

But attachment is like chasing a mirage. 🏜️

We think, “When I have this, I’ll be happy.”
Then we get it—and the happiness doesn’t last.
So we move on to the next thing… and the next.

Seeking. Seeking. And never finding.

What if instead of waiting for something outside of us to make us happy, we learned how to make ourselves happy now? 💛

“I myself need to learn how to make myself happy.”

That’s a practice worth starting today. 🧘‍♀️✨

Comment ♥️ if you think we can be happy by just deciding it or

😈 Your worst enemy might be your greatest teacher.

Atisha even cherished the cook who made his life miserable. Why? Because difficult people can become powerful opportunities to train our mind. 🧘‍♀️

🧘‍♀️ Meditation is more than learning to relax.

It’s a practice of familiarizing our mind with virtuous ways of thinking—patience, compassion, wisdom, and kindness. 💛

The more familiar we become with these positive ways of thinking, the more naturally they begin to shape how we respond to life. Over time, they become not just something we practice on the cushion, but part of who we are. ✨

Join us for meditation classes every Sunday, Monday & Wednesday. Everyone welcome! 🌿

✨ Tonight — Wednesday at 7:30pm Francisco will teach Beyond Insecurity: Progress Over Perfection.

Come practice with us! 🧘‍♂️💫

How often do we tell ourselves, “I’ll be happy when…”? 🏖️✨

When we have the better holiday.
The better job.
More success.
More money.
More of everything.

And then we get there… and somehow, there’s another “when” waiting for us.

This endless search for something outside ourselves to finally make us happy is one of the ways attachment keeps us feeling incomplete. 💭

What if happiness isn’t something we have to keep chasing?

Maybe the goal isn’t to stop wanting anything—but to stop making our happiness depend on getting it. ❤️

What’s your “I’ll be happy when…”?

Have you noticed how we always seem to want more than what we have? 👀

We often normalize it by calling it “growth.” We should always be improving, achieving, upgrading, becoming more…

But what if constantly wanting more means we never actually feel enough? What if we’re always postponing happiness until we reach the next goal?

🌱 What if we could have a growth mindset without feeling incomplete? ❤️

Do you think this is possible—or does it sound contradictory to you? 🤔

Our mind isn’t fixed. 🌱 And that means we can change it.

Buddha’s teachings can be like a mirror 🔎—helping us recognize the habits of mind that create stress, unhappiness, and suffering.

Once we can see these unhelpful ways of thinking, we can learn to replace them with healthier, more peaceful habits. 🧘‍♀️✨

The word Dharma refers to Buddha’s teachings, but its direct meaning is “mind protection.” Dharma helps us protect our mind from suffering by teaching us how to work with our mind.

And most importantly, we don’t need to identify ourselves with our delusions or difficult habits of mind. They are not who we are. Our mind is impermanent and changeable. 💛

As Geshe-la explains in Mirror of Dharma:

“Our mind is like a cloudy sky: in essence clear and pure, but overcast by clouds of delusions. Just as the thickest clouds can disperse, so, too, even the heaviest delusions can be removed from our mind.”

The clouds may be there—but they are not the sky. ☁️✨

We can learn to change our mind, and through changing our mind, we can change our experience of life. 🙏

🌿 What if the break you need isn’t another distraction?

When life feels hectic or overwhelming, we often look for something to take our mind off things — a busy weekend, a new activity, another scroll, another plan. 📱✨

And sometimes it helps… for a little while.

But sooner or later, we realize we’re taking the same mind with us everywhere we go. If our mind is restless, distracted, or overwhelmed, changing our external situation doesn’t necessarily change how we feel inside in the long term.

That’s why learning to work with our mind is so important. 🧘‍♀️💛

This day retreat is a wonderful opportunity to step away from the busyness of daily life, be quiet, and give our mind some space to settle. Through silence and meditation, we can learn to develop greater concentration and inner peace.

We’ll practice a meditation combining the breath with the mantra OM AH HUM, helping us reduce distraction, calm the mind, and develop a more peaceful and controlled mind. 🌬️🙏

As we learn to work with our mind, we can begin to experience everyday life differently — becoming more present, enjoying simple activities more fully, and being more available to the people we love. 🤍

No meditation experience needed. Everyone welcome 🌿

Tag a friend that needs more presence!...Joke, it might not be a good idea 😆

Write "mantra" in the comments if you want us to send you a link to a guided breathing meditation to do at home 😊
