The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic fraternal service organization that witnesses to its principles of charity, unity and fraternity through spiritual and corporal works of mercy locally and throughout the world. The Knights also promotes the Catholic faith through evangelization initiatives and offers financial security to its members and their families through highly rated financial products a

nd services. Membership in the Knights of Columbus is open to men 18 years of age or older who are practical (that is, practicing) Catholics in union with the Holy See. “In the end, my Immaculate Heart will triumph.”.

O God, who prepared a fit dwelling place for the Holy Spirit in the Heart of the Blessed Virgin Mary, graciously grant that through her intercession we may be a worthy temple of your glory. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. (Collect Prayer for the Mass of the Feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary)

Today, we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus!

In his homily for the Consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart, Supreme Chaplain Archbishop William Lori reminded us of the love between Christ & the Father and that “The Sacred Heart is the visible sign of that love. It is not an abstract devotion. It is the revelation of God’s love made flesh—a heart that has known joy and sorrow, friendship and betrayal, suffering and sacrifice.”

Today, the US bishops will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus in anticipation of the 250th anniversary of our country!

O Sacred Heart of Jesus,
living and quickening source of eternal life,
infinite treasure of the Divinity,
and burning furnace of divine love,
You are my refuge and my sanctuary.
O my amiable Savior,
consume my heart with that burning fire
with which Your Heart is ever inflamed;
pour down on my soul those graces
which flow from Your love;
and let my heart be so united with Yours
that our wills may be one,
and that mine may be
entirely conformed to Yours.
May Your divine will be equally the standard
and rule of all my desires and of all my actions.
Amen.

Seminarians preparing for the priesthood gathered at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore for the St. John Vianney Soccer Cup, a tournament that fostered fraternity among future priests from dioceses across the Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Philadelphia region. Named for Saint John Vianney, the event began and ended with prayer before the Eucharist, uniting seminarians from diverse backgrounds in faith, fellowship, and friendly competition. As brother Knights, many also serve their communities through the charitable work of the Knights of Columbus.

The Fourth Degree exemplification celebrates the Knights of Columbus’ pillar of patriotism. At Providence College, members of Council 5787 took this important step, continuing the Knights’ legacy of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. The exemplification highlights how young Catholic men are embracing their faith and answering the call to serve both Church and country as Catholic patriots.

Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you do not have life within you.
Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him on the last day.
For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him.
John 6:53-56

Our team has been having a great time meeting with so many State Deputies & State Chaplains who are here in New Haven for their annual organizational meeting!

Many expressed how excited and happy they are with all of the college councils in their jurisdictions. Pray for all of our state leaders as they prepare to lead our brother knights in faith & fraternity this upcoming year 🙏
