[APRIL RECAP]
We partnered with Fuente Church, one of our newest City Partners, for a beautification service day, where volunteers spent the morning repairing and refreshing the church grounds and surrounding neighborhood. We’re grateful for our partnership with Fuente Church and everyone who came ready to serve.
We gathered at the Dragon Restaurant in Koreatown for a City Dinner Encore for folks ages 50+, where we shared some nostalgic dishes with good conversation around memories looking back and hopes looking forward!
Every morning throughout Passion Week, we held early morning prayer in the Highland Park Church chapel. We spent the morning praying, worshipping, and seeking God’s presence together and fellowshipped over breakfast afterwards.
We came together for Good Friday Service to worship, take communion, and reflect on the crucifixion of Jesus Christ.
We celebrated Easter Sunday at Citizens! We are so grateful to be able to celebrate and worship together on this important day of Jesus’ resurrection. Thank you to all of our faithful volunteers and everyone who joined us!
We hosted another Intro to Citizens, a course we offer quarterly to share the vision, values, and history of our church. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
Families from our Children’s Ministry participated in Poverty Encounter through Children’s Hunger Fund, where they learned about the realities of poverty and packed food boxes for children and families in need.
Our Hospitality Team gathered for a Field Day filled with games, fellowship, and time to celebrate the volunteers who faithfully help create welcoming spaces each Sunday.
Our staff spent an evening bowling together, enjoying some friendly competition and time together outside of the usual rhythms of ministry.
We closed out the month with a City Seafood Boil at Hermon Park, where our community gathered over good food, conversation, and new friendships. Thank you to Richard Park for preparing an incredible cajun-style seafood boil for everyone to enjoy!
