God designed our bodies to need rest as another reminder of our dependence on him to sustain us. We're taking some of our own advice to have a little bit of Christ-centered rest after this crazy-but-good holiday season. God is completely and wholly good and there is no darkness in him (1 John 1:5). In fact, God is good and only does good (Psalm 119:68). Therefore, it makes sense that everything God creates is also good (1 Timothy 4:4). 🙌

Jesus shed his blood for the Church (God’s people); God obtains his people with his own blood; therefore, Jesus is God. This is a pivotal, crucial point to say definitively that it was God’s blood being shed with Jesus on the cross. Therefore, we can know that we had a perfect and sufficient sacrifice for our sins that actually cleanses us because it is God who cleansed us with his own sacrifice. This is the good news. Tell others!

"Everything that is not God depends on God."

This quickly became a favorite t-shirt for good reason. We know from the Bible that God created all things and that all things are upheld by the word of his power (John 1:1-18, Colossians 1:15-17, Hebrews 1:3).

Since Jesus is the One who created all things and for whom all things are created, then we can know that he is not only an uncreated being, we can also know that Jesus is God and all things depend on him.

It's amazing to think that we depend on God to think and breathe and have life and how fitting it is that we depend on him even for our salvation. This is the Gospel and it is still good news.

It's hard to imagine a better place to read God's Word than in God's creation.

"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him." Colossians 1:16. This passage is talking about Jesus. Yes, he is God. Yes, Jesus created all things, and he is our Savior through his own blood (Acts 20:28). Love him and rejoice in what he has done today.
