"My name is MarĆa Eugenia Castro. I’m from Bolivia and have lived most of my life in California. Knowing The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been a great blessing.

In 1999, a brother we hired to work on our home bowed his head to pray at his meal break. That simple example impacted me. As we got to know his family, they shared the gospel with us. In time, my husband, our three children—Christian, Maranda, and Nicia—and I were baptized. By 2001, we were sealed in the temple as an eternal family. To be with my family forever is the most wonderful blessing.

My great challenge was tithing. I didn’t work; my husband provided for us and faithfully paid tithing. I didn’t understand why. When I saw the amount he gave, I complained. I told him that money would serve us better for clothes, treats, or outings. I opposed him the whole time.

Then my husband had an accident. He injured all the fingers on his right hand and couldn’t work. Immediately, our bishopric, elders quorum, and Relief Society came to help. I’ll never forget my bishop telling my husband, ā€œDon’t worry, brother. We are here to help you. You were faithful with your tithing and now you need the Church.ā€ Those words pierced my heart.

After receiving help from the Church, I knelt and begged Jesus Christ for forgiveness. With tears, I promised Heavenly Father to be faithful in tithing.

To this day I never question our expenses. The Lord helps me with my finances and I do not lack for daily needs. I’m blessed to be a member of this Church, to keep the commandments, and to know prayers are answered in the Lord’s time. There is power in prayer. In the name of Jesus Christ, amen."

My name is Jean Naples. Recently, I was reminded of the story of Gideon, who humbly asked God for a sign. It brought to my remembrance the many times I, too, have sought confirmation from my Heavenly Father—not out of doubt, but out of faith and a sincere desire to know His will for my life. Like Gideon, I longed for reassurance that the path before me was truly the one God was calling me to walk.
That is how it was when I felt prompted to join the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Deep in my heart, I believed Heavenly Father was calling me to become a member of His Church, yet because of the circumstances I found myself in, I struggled to know for certain. I understood that members were asked to live the Word of Wisdom, and at the time I was a smoker. I had often heard how difficult it could be to overcome that addiction, and I wondered if I would ever be able to do it.
So with a humble heart, I prayed and asked God for a sign. I said that if it truly was His will for me to join the Church, He would let that cigarette be the last one I would ever smoke. And by His grace, it was.
Two months later, I was baptized.
This year, I will celebrate 18 years as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Through the years, my relationship with my Heavenly Father and with Jesus Christ has deepened and strengthened in ways I could never have imagined. I know that the Savior is with me always—He goes before me, He walks beside me, and He lovingly watches over me. That knowledge has been one of the greatest blessings of my life and a source of peace, strength, and joy through every season.šŸ’•

My name is Taylor Bolles. I was born into the gospel and baptized at 8. I had parents who taught me the gospel and attended church meetings. However, I’d say the moment I truly converted was much later.
After high school, there were years of choices I made that did not align with the gospel. I came to the hard realization that my life was not playing out how I had always imagined or hoped it would. I then decided that I was going to change and align my life with God. I spent almost 2 years sincerely changing my character and nature to align with Jesus Christ. He became the center of everything I did. I dedicated time to focus on His life and purpose and build a relationship with Him. I was not changing my life for others or for my image. I sincerely, in my heart, was changing my life for Jesus Christ. I was completely focused on Him and where He wanted me to go, which I knew was the temple. I felt that after experiencing the lowest lows in my life, I owed Him everything. After 2 years on this journey, I felt defeated. I remember talking to Heavenly Father, asking why I had not seen the blessings of the righteous desires of my heart. I was angry. Yet in that moment, I decided to keep enduring and moving forward in faith.
Slowly, after much patience, everything in life started to align with what I dreamed about. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for my Savior and His atonement. I also cannot put into words how everything came to be for me since on paper it doesn’t make sense. The only answer I have for how is my Heavenly Father.
Since the decision I made years ago, I have never looked back and have continued to strive to live my life in harmony with the gospel of Jesus Christ. I learned it is the only thing in the world that has gotten me to exactly where I want to be.
ā€œMy dear brothers and sisters, in a coming day, Jesus Christ will return to earth as the millennial Messiah. So today I call upon you to rededicate your lives to Jesus Christ… Come unto Christ and ā€˜offer your whole soul to Him. This is the secret to a life of joy!ā€ ~Russel M. Nelson
