Born For Such A Time Encouraging people with God’s truth

02/21/2026

This morning as I walked down my driveway and looked at the daffodils that are blooming, I immediately became excited because I know spring is coming soon! My mind then began to think about a song my daughter sent to me and a friend this morning , “Come Jesus Come”. I’ve listened to this song many times and thought, just like being excited for spring, I’m getting more and more excited for the coming of Jesus. But I have to remembered just because I see the daffodis blooming, spring isn’t here yet. I can’t be tricked into believing that. So while I wait I have to prepare. I must sow the seeds for the vegetable garden and the flower garden. I must throw some seeds on our grass to help it grow thicker. But, also just like spring, I know Jesus is coming. Until then I wait. Matthew 24 tells us what signs to look for. Matthew 25 tells about the ten virgins and how the foolish ones didn’t prepare. They didn’t keep their lamps filled with oil. Then Jesus goes on in Matthew 25 to tell about the parables of the Talents and again how the foolish ones didn’t use their talents to sow the seeds of salvation. Don’t get tricked. Don’t believe lies. Don’t follow the wrong signs. Know what the Bible says.
1 Timothy 4:1 tells us “Now the Spirit expressly says that in later times some will depart from the faith by devoting themselves to deceitful spirits and teachings of demons,”. I pray today we all prepare for the coming of Jesus because just like spring, He is definitely coming and I want to be ready and I want all my family and friends to be ready. 🙏🌼

Something I struggle with often, especially since I have retired, is how I can serve God. I pray about it, I think about different things to do, I talk about with my husband and I feel like I still don’t ever get an answer. I spent many years in a previous church working hard to volunteer for many things thinking that was what I was supposed to do. However, this morning while waking and listening to my pastor on a podcast he was discussing several things and one thing that he touched on was ways to serve. When he went through the list it wasn’t volunteering for all the things at church or joining a ministry but instead it was simply helping others, sharing Jesus and being available for others through prayer, encouragement, financially and our time. I pray today that I will see the opportunities that are put before me and not miss the chance to show the love of Jesus.

I pray today that whoever reads this is fully armored up in the Holy Spirit!

Ephesians 6:10-12
10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

My family, like many other families, have faced many difficulties and losses. Sometimes it seems we have had more than our share. However, looking back, it is so clear to see how God was always there and ready to bring us to the other side. The side of victory. We often make things so much more difficult than what it has to be because of our lack of faith and always trying to do things on our own. Today, my cousin who has been burdened for over 20 years with grief and anger, finally reached the other side, the side of victory, by giving every tear, every drop of anger and every question to God! Today I’m so thankful for what He can now do in her life! He has called her by name!!❤️

I am in a season right now that I am “getting the unexpected.” Seven months ago my husband and I downsized to a space I definitely hadn’t been used to. A cabin that sits in the middle of the woods and is 30-40 minutes from any surrounding town! But what has came out of this time is learning how to enjoy the quite and to do more listening. I have walked outside in the pitch black night and looked up in awe of the stars and moon that God has created and without any fear of what I can’t see. I have listened for God to speak and he has. I’m so thankful for this time in my life. A time that I can pray without hurrying, reflect and search for wisdom. I believe that God is using this time to prepare me and consecrate me. Find some quiet time for yourself. It’s amazing what can happen!

“Be silent before the Lord God! For the day of the Lord is near; the Lord has prepared a sacrifice and consecrated his guests.” Zephaniah 1:7

The psalmist asks God why his heart is so sad and why he must go through a time of oppression by his enemies. God never asks us to understand, he asks us to obey and glorify him as we do so.

“As the deer pants for water, so I long for you, O God. I thirst for God, the living God.” Psalm 42:1-2

“Born for such a time as this.”
How often did I hear my mother tell me that? A lot! When the role of a caretaker landed on me, there were many times that were very difficult and tiring. Caring for her and then my sister, at the same time was overwhelming to say the least! The responsibility that fell on me was great and heavy. But then my mom would come along and tell me these words she had said so many times, ”You were born for such a time as this.” The unfortunate thing was instead of clinging to God during this time, I tried to handle it all on my on. I lost my sister 3 years ago and my mother almost 2 years ago but it has been during these last 3 years my faith has grown to a level I’ve never known. This has led me to start this page. I hope, that through some encouraging words from scripture and personal experiences, that maybe someone will begin to look at their life and know that whatever circumstances or hardships you may be experiencing, we have a Savior and a Heavenly Father who we can trust and depend on.

“For if you keep silent at this time, relief and deliverance will rise for the Jews from another place, but you and your father’s house will perish. And who knows whether you have not come to the kingdom for such a time as this?”

“Perhaps you were born for such a time as this”. Esther 4:14
