Unity in the Body. Are you on the same team in your home, and church?

Unity-the state of being united or joined as a whole. oneness.

Our behavior in Christ is to match our profession of Christ. To "walk worthy" means that we are to live in a way that honors and pleases God; we were "created in Christ Jesus for good works.

I have a question for you this morning. How is the unity in your home, and church?

Paul encouraged us all in Ephesians to keep the unity.

"I therefore, the prisoner for the Lord, appeal to and beg you to walk (lead a life) worthy of the [divine] calling to which you have been called [with behavior that is a credit to the summons to God's service, living as becomes you] with complete lowliness of mind (humility) and meekness (unselfishness, gentleness, mildness), with patience, bearing with one another and making allowances because you love one another. Be eager and strive earnestly to guard and keep the harmony and oneness of [and produced by] the Spirit in the binding power of peace" (Ephesians 4:1-3).

Brothers and sisters, I ask you to take a look in the mirror of your life and have an open mind about this. Are you fussing and fighting in your home and church? If so, apply what Paul is telling you in the above scripture. Ask God to help you lead a life that brings glory to His name. Ask Him to show you how to become more humble and slow to react to foolish things that are going on around you. Ask Him to help you apply unselfeisness, gentleness, mildness with patience, bearing with one another even when it don't look right. Ask Him to show you how to avoid strife or contraversy.

It's time for us to Grow Up and become Mature.

Speak the truth in love to one another.

We can do better.

Blessings.

Grieving the Holy Spirit.

Grieve: to cause (someone) to feel sad or unhappy.

My dear friends, there are two things I want you to focus on today.
1) Do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God.
2) Do not give place to the devil.

Did you know that we can short-circuit the effective work of the Holy Spirit in our lives by grieving Him?

How do we grieve the Holy Spirit? We grieve Him when we disobey God's commandments and when we choose to act in unrighteous ways. In other words, we displease the Lord when we know what to do and then choose to do the opposite.

We grieve the Holy Spirit when we lie, steal, remain angry with one another, or speak cutting, hurting words to each other. By doing this we do what the Bible say, "give place to the devil." When the Ephesians broke the most obvious of God's commandments, they caused sorrow in the Holy Spirit. So in effect, "Our ungodly behavior breaks the heart of God."

The Holy Spirit is grieved not only because our conduct tarnishes God's good name, but also because He loves us and deeply desires to reward us, bless us, and see good fruit produced in and through us-not discipline us. He knows that sin injures us and saddles our lives with negative consequences. When we know that our loved ones do things that harm them, we feel grieved. So does He.

So how can we avoid grieving the Holy Spirit?

We can choose to keep God's commandments and to lead a disciplined life by depending on the power of the Spirit. When we sin, we confess the sin immediately and repent of it, changing our minds and our behavior to conform to God's Word.

As we ask the Holy Spirit to lead us and help us every day, we gain His help to enjoy a successful Christian walk. He keeps our footing sure.

"And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, by whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.(Ephesians 4:30).

"nor give place to the devil." (Ephesians 4:27).

Ask God to help you in your areas of weakness, so you can please Him.
Blessings.

Answer to Life's Questions.

How can I rightly comprehend God's truth?

Whenever God speaks to us, His first goal is that we may comprehend the truth. He desires that we fully understand His meaning.

God has given to all believers a divine Person who helps us to receive and understand the truth. The Holy Spirit, who perfectly knows the mind of God (1 Cor. 2:10) and who receives and communicates to our spirits the truth God wants our understanding to grow in three primary areas.

1) The truth about Himself. God wants us to grasp His majesty, His holiness, His power, His love, His grace, and His joy. When we begin to comprehend these mighty truths about the person of God, we find our lives enriched, enabled, and energized. Paul wrote that his ultimate aim in life was to know Christ (Phil. 3.10). Almost two thousand years later, can we think of anyone who has experienced a richer life?

2) The truth about ourselves. God wants us to realize our importance in the scheme of His eternal plans; but most of all, God wants us to know our position and who we are in Christ. Since we are one with Christ, all His divine privileges become ours. His righteousness is ours because He abides in us. His wisdom and His sanctification we can now arrpropriate. Our enrollment in the Lamb's Book of Life carries all the glorious distinctions of our new status as God's children.

3) The truth about other people. God wants us to view people as His chosen instruments and His creations. Some time ago God was sifting me, sanding me, pruining me, untill I thought nothing world be left. A friend helped pull me through this deep valley. sometimes I was harsh, even rude. He never reacted. He would just say, "I understand. What can I do to help?" He never rejected me or showed disappointment; he never agrily admonished me. When I poured out my inside to him, he just loved me. He wept with me, prayed with me, laughted with me, and patiently listened to me. Through his unwavering love we developed an unbreakable bond of deep friendship that strenghtened my own intimacy with God.

When we begin to understand the truth of who God is and gain a better understanding of ourselves and others, we become thoroughly equipped to be fruitful, productive servants on earth.

Blessings!

Slander, Gossip, and Evil Speaking Against Others: What does the Bible Teach? Part 1

As Christians, we must be very careful how we talk about someone, especially if we don't have any evidence about what we are saying about another person. I also believe this is one of the biggest sins in the world that people take light of.

People love to talk about other people, especially if they can say something bad: at work, over the backyard fence, and especially over the telephone, etc. Many newspaper columns, magazines, and TV and radio talk shows are devoted to the latest gossip about movie stars, politicians, and other public figures. People delight in digging up dirt.

If we were honest most of us would admit we ourselves at times have a problem with speech. How many can honestly say they have never said something about someone else and then later realized they should not have said it? If we understood the Bible better, we might regret even more of our speech.

Let's take a look at a few scriptures at this point.

James 3:2-If we can control our speech, we can control all areas of our lives.
Titus 3:1-2-Christians are told to "speak evil of no one. "
1 Peter 2-1-"Lay aside....all evil speaking."

Now I would just like to define a few words to help us understand where we are as we do this study.

1) Gossip- Rumor or talk of a personal, sensational, or intimate nature.
2) Rumor-Unverified information of uncertain origin usually spread by word of mouth.
3) Slander-The utterance of defamatory statements injurious to the reputation or well-being of a person....A malicious statement or report.
4) Backbite-to speak spitefully or slanderously about (a person).
5) Talebearer- A person who spreads malicious stories or gossip.
6) Rail-To condemn or attack in bitter, harsh, or abusive language....
7) Revile- to denounce with abusive language.
😎 Got some Juice-All of the above.

Some people believe that all talking about people who are not present is gossip, and therefore is wrong. Others think saying bad things about people not present is gossip. Or some think talking about things you don't know to be true about others is gossip and wrong.

This is just an introduction, tomorrow we will study in more in details on this subject so fasten your seatbelt and get ready for a rough ride. This could be you.

Blessings.

"He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, but he who is impulsive exalts folly.(Proverbs 14:29)."

Wrath: Violent, resentful anger. A manifestation of rage.

The many times I reacted before thing about what I was doing. In my marriage, on the chop, on the highway(just don't get in my way right?), when someone looked at me. It was let's do this! Always verbally defending me. But never physically defending me.

Hello, anybody been there?

It may feel good (for a short while) to vent our anger at someone, but "the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God" (James 1:20) Failure to control a quick temper leads only to heartache.

Teach us oh Lord to number our days, that we may be wise in everything we say and do.

Good morning my dear brothers and sisters. I was just thinking to myself this morning how times flies. I remember a time in my life I use to waste so much time doing the same thing over and over again until it got so boring. Abbott and Constella comedy show. Knowing what was going to happen and still preparing myself to laugh at it even in my 4 peat. I had watched it 5-to 6 hours too much.
How many of us have the same cycle of wasting time doing the same old thing and before you know it, you ask yourself, where did the time go?

I ask this question to a person I help get out of jail on several occasions due to drunk driving and suspended license. "What happens when you get locked up?" His reply was I lose money. Well that is true, because he did lose several jobs because of this. But the most important thing you lose when you are not free is time.

My brothers and sister this is from my heart to your heart. We don't have time to waste fussing and fighting, hating and being angry, bitter, wrath, malice, walking in unforgiveness, blaming someone for the course of your life. I personally know of family members that haven't talked to each other for years due to some family problem that occurred. All of this takes up time and before you know it you are 30, 40, 50, 60, 70,................very old.
My brothers and sisters, we can do better. Don't let the years past you by. Make the best of your time in this life here on earth.
Call that sister, brother, mother, father, friend and get it right today. Ask God to give you the wisdom.

"So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom." (Psalm 92:12).

"Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord; looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the graced of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled." (Hebrews 1214,15).

"If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men." (Romans 12:18).

We can do better, so let's get it started.

Blessings!

Taking a look at FEAR.

Text Scripture:

Isaiah 41:10New King James Version (NKJV)
10 Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,
Yes, I will help you,
I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’

All you have to do is watch the news to see terrifying events happening around the world. However, in spite of all this, God's people are called to live fearlessly. How can we remain calm and confident in the midst of it all? We must remember that the Lord has promised to strengthen, help, and uphold us, and He always keeps His Word.

What is fear?

A) Fear is an uneasy feeling or dread....like an alarm, warning that something bad is going to happen. It could be caused by a threat or feeling a loss of control in a certain situation.

😎 When the Bible speaks about the fear of the Lord, it is a good fear.....one created by a healthy reverence for a holy, righteous God.

C) Remember that fear itself is not bad. But when it's continually with us, it becomes a problem.

Each of us will face fear at some point; it is what we do with it that matters most. We must claim our position as God's children. We have the power to overcome fear when we apply His Word to our lives.

We will take a look at the many emotions that's linked to fear tomorrow.

Remember, you have not been given a spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

Worry, anxiety, fear and panic: How they hinder our relationship with God.

The torturous distraction of fears and worry hinder our relationship with the Lord. They get us all tied up in knots, opening up the doorway for Satan's further attacks of sickness and diseases. Lack of enough faith and trust can reduce one's life span and help bring about an early trip to the grave. Just look around you and notice a lot of sick people with one thing or the other. If you take a deeper look into their lives you will observe a considerable amount of fear and worry in their lives. I am "not" saying all people who are sick have this problem but..........a lot do!

How do we fight back and have victory over fear and worry, or rather Satan and his demons? If you have been praying and believing .......now it is time to start "standing and trusting."

You see when we "let" fear and worry take our emotions in a run away situation, we are "not" waling around fully trusting the Lord. We have the ability to control the demons of fear and worry. It becomes a part of our lives, when we have received the Salvation of Jesus Christ. God gives us the "weapons" to fight Satan with lie "faith and trust." We can "choose" to trust the Lord or to fear the circumstances of our situations. We make that decision for ourselves. No one forces us to do anything. We choose to follow God or to give in to Satan. God give us the spiritual power to fight and stand as His gift to us. We by choice, "choose" to use that "power" to either have trusting faith in the Lord, or to "give" our "power" away to Satan. God gives us "power" and "authority" over Satan if we choose to use it in full faith and solid trust.

In closing, I would like to give you three words that will up start your victory over these dangerous kissing cousins. Stand (do no be quick to react), faith and trust in God.

Blessings.
