This was a fun month for our LEAF sites! The came to our site, hosted at and spoke, we also had from come and share and lead an activity. Our West Stanly Middle site hosted had the Locust Police Department of come and share! Both sites took a day to express our creativity and decorate Easter eggs!

We had a great day at our West Stanly LEAF site today! We had Brandi from come and share with our group about what Mental Health is, what therapy and counseling is, and how we all need someone to talk to.

Due to severe weather predictions tonight/tomorrow, school is closed for all SCS students.

Games are a key way to learn social skills like team work, emotional regulation, communication, problem solving, critical thinking and more! It also helps build a bond within our LEAF group!

🚨 Weather Update for Friday, February 6, 2026

Due to road conditions, Stanly County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay for students and staff on Friday, February 6.

Safety is our top priority. This decision was made to allow for increased visibility and rising temperatures to help improve road conditions during morning travel.

We encourage families and staff to continue monitoring:

Due to local weather conditions, all Stanly County Schools will be CLOSED today, Thursday, February 5, 2026.

• All school facilities will be closed
• Sports and extracurricular activities are canceled
• Staff will have an optional remote workday

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. This decision was made after careful review of current and forecasted conditions in consultation with the State Highway Patrol and emergency management officials.

⏰ Two-Hour Delay | Thursday, February 5, 2026

Due to local weather conditions, all Stanly County Schools will operate on a TWO-HOUR DELAY tomorrow, Thursday, February 5, 2026.

• Students will begin school on a two-hour delay
• Staff will also operate on a two-hour delay
• Sports and extracurricular activities will be monitored

The safety of our students and staff is our top priority. This decision was made after careful review of current and forecasted conditions in consultation with emergency management officials.

We are also monitoring an incoming weather system that may bring additional winter weather. Road conditions will be checked early tomorrow morning.
