☀️Good Morning Livingston Parish and Happy Friday!

Please be weather aware today as heat and humidity replace yesterday's stormy conditions.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 10:00 AM until 7:00 PM today. Afternoon heat index values are expected to range between 108° and 112° across much of southeast Louisiana and south Mississippi.

Many residents may be spending time outdoors cleaning up after yesterday's storms, so remember to take precautions against heat-related illnesses:

💧 Drink plenty of water and non-alcoholic beverages 🏠 Take frequent breaks in air-conditioned environments 👕 Wear lightweight, light-colored clothing ☀️ Limit strenuous outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day 🧓 Check on elderly family members, neighbors, and those without adequate cooling.

While the Flood Watch is being allowed to expire this morning, several local rivers remain in flood stage and continue to be monitored closely.

⛈️ Scattered thunderstorms remain possible this afternoon. Widespread heavy rainfall is not expected; however, a few storms could produce localized heavy rainfall that may aggravate existing flooding concerns or create new isolated flooding issues.

Looking ahead, we can expect one more day of scattered thunderstorms on Saturday before a drier weather pattern settles in for a few days. Unfortunately, the heat and humidity will remain with us for the foreseeable future.

Please continue to monitor official weather sources and the Livingston Parish Government App for the latest information and updates.

Stay safe, stay cool, and have a great Friday, Livingston Parish!
