August 14 is the Feast Day of St. Maximilian Kolbe. He was a 20th-century Polish Franciscan priest remembered for his courage and devotion to Our Lady. During the N**i occupation in WWII, he was persecuted then arrested and imprisoned at Auschwitz. He continued to act as a priest despite violence from the prison guards before volunteering to take the place of another man in the starvation cells. Check out FORMED content and reflect on what it means to be a saint in the modern world? How does Kolbe's example challenge us to live our faith more boldly?
