“and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.””
1 Corinthians 11:24-25 NIV
“Do you understand what I have done for you?” he asked them. “You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘Lord,’ and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. Very truly I tell you, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.”
John 13:12-17 NIV
Such a beautiful service this evening. Watching the little ones perform this act for the first time and learning by example what Christ told us to do…some washing the feet of a sibling and others washing their parents or grandmothers feet…has such a wonderful impact on them that they will always remember in life!
