The Unity in the Community Project is an active walk of faith by like-minded members of Bethany Baptist Church and Fork Bethel Baptist Church. These two churches have united in order to bridge the gap in communication and true love of God between church congregations.

This project was created in November 2021 following a very successful effort to bring the two congregations together for a pre-Thanksgiving dinner that was held at the Howard Family Farm located on Centerville Road in Lexington. The two churches are both located on Centerville Road and are only 0.9 miles apart. Prior to this effort, there had not been any regular communication between the two churches. God moved through the Holy Spirit mightily as we prayed, worshiped, and broke bread together. That led to active conversations between church leaders.

At the present time, we are holding joint prayer services at each church on a monthly basis--the last Wednesday of each month. In addition to the prayer meeting, individual members are attending various activities that are being held by our partner church, and the love of God is being displayed!

Our goal is to "Unite with the Body of Christ throughout our entire community."

Psalms 133:1 says it all:

Behold how good and pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity.
