"It is easier for God to get His people out of Egypt than for Him to take Egypt out of His people."
I heard this yesterday and am still reflecting on all the ways this is true. Israel left Egypt but they continued to want the comforts, food, and the life God was saving them from...slavery, bo***ge, and death.
When we become Christians, we are transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light but how often do we take our previous kingdom with us?
We often hold on to things we are used to or are familiar. Jesus is looking to turn your world upside down, not add something to it. He doesn't want you to keep thanking about what you have lost but what He is doing to and for you.
You are not just misisng one piece of the puzzle when you come to Jesus, you are sick and are in need of healing. That healing comes in the fortm of complete and utter transformation. Death to the old man, alive and made new in Christ.
If you are honest with yourself, what are you still carrying with you from you past that Jesus was to remove from you?
