As Foster Care Awareness Month comes to a close, remember that you don’t have to know everything about foster care to start making a difference.

Our Foster Care Toolkit in the our Partner Portal was created to help individuals, churches, and organizations move from simply caring about the issue to understanding the foster care space and discovering practical ways to engage where you feel called.

Whether that means fostering, supporting foster families, meeting tangible needs by serving through CarePortal, or simply learning more, there’s a place for everyone to begin.

This month, during Foster Care Awareness Month, we’re reminded that foster care advocacy doesn’t end when a child turns 18.

For many young people, aging out of foster care means stepping into adulthood without the support systems most of us rely on. There’s a huge need for consistent relationships, safe homes, mentors, churches, employers, and a community willing to show up.

If you’ve ever wondered how you can help, there are meaningful ways to get involved right here in our community. Serving through or supporting are great places to start. Small acts of support can make a lasting difference in the life of a child or young adult.
