🍱 GROCERY GIVEAWAY 🍱

Mark your calendar for Community Grocery Giveaway on Saturday, January 31, from 10am-noon, while supplies last.

Gateway Assembly of Imlay City will be distributing a full semi-load of groceries to households in need. This event is open to the community and is designed to provide practical support to families during the winter season.

Groceries will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. This is drive-thru style.

Gateway is located at 2796 S Van D**e Rd, Imlay City, MI 48444.

No registration required.

After much discussion of the church vision team, the decision has been made to close the food pantry. Shelves will be removed at the end of the month, possibly before if stock is depleted.

This decision was not made lightly. The pantry was started in 2018 by a local Girl Scout looking for a location to put a small food pantry as part of her final community project. When the pandemic hit, the church took it upon themselves to keep the pantry going to help those who found themselves in need. It has gotten to the point it is overwhelming and financially we are unable to sustain it. Our volunteers are burned out and we do not have the space or the people to change it to a controlled pantry with limited availability etc.

To those who have received much needed help over the years, it has been an honor to help you get through those rough times . You will continue to be in our prayers. I personally have met so many wonderful people and this was a very difficult post to make.

The pantry FB page will remain open and I will continue to post assistance options as I am aware of them.

We DO NOT take clothing and household items. Please stop leaving your unwanted items at our pantry. You are making more work for our volunteers and any items left here are promptly removed.

NO PARKING in front of the doors on Sundays between 9:30am to 1:00 pm please as some of our congregation requires assistance and they are being blocked.
