I’ve read Ruth several times, but I saw something this morning that I haven’t noticed before. Ruth and her family left home to go to Moab because there was a famine in their home country. When Ruth returns to Bethlehem, a widow whose sons had also died, she says, “I went away full, but the Lord brought me back empty.” (Ruth 1:21). How interesting. She fled her home to avoid hunger and instead she was left empty. Have you ever taken a path expecting a result but got something totally different?
