Let not my memory fade nor my gratitude falter
HIS grace is not a mere moment in prayer, but an eternal gift bestowed in a moment foreknown before time.
Surly HE rescued me, and I became aware of HIS mercy, Shall I now in my haste forget?
Shall I now say HE was gracious only this once? Did HE cover me only to abandon me now?
Certainly not! HE shall finish what HE has begun. Let me learn of ways to honor HIM.
I shall stoke the memory and increase my understanding of HIS mercy and shall sleep in the peaceful slumber of gratitude
I shall praise him in the mornings and let my heart be bold in HIS promise.
I will know shelter in HIS wisdom and dine on the table HE provides.
All my days shall be filled by HIS word and I will not hunger except for more of HIS presence
In my lord will I trust

Just a thought

When we can humanize our heroes from the bible, see him or her for the very human people that they were with all their very natural faults and flaws, their needs , their ordinariness, then we can truly see and appreciate the miracles and workings of God and Christ in their lives and testimony. In God are the ordinary made extraordinary.

When I struggle with my nature as I can often do
I have only but to receive his grace and have faith in his work finished on the cross

For it is not by my good deeds or self perceived good nature that confirms my inheritance in God
I cannot earn a place in God's kingdom
That right was given to me by Christ's accomplishment on the cross.
In Christ's final three words " it is finished" I must place my hope and gratitude
In his perfect fulfillment of his fathers will am I granted a promise of adoption into his holy family

Hebrews 7::25
Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.

Ephesians 2:8-9
For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast.

Just a thought....
1700 years ago, when Rome' s leaders and civilian population fled its plague filled streets leaving those who were stricken behind to suffer, followers of Christ stayed behind to minister to the sick and bury the dead
(See below one account.)
They did not horde goods, they shared at their own peril. They did what was right to those less fortunate.
Are we? Are we showing kindness for kindness sake? Are we reaching out to the sick and stranded.
Are we allowing the person behind us to have the last loaf of bread on a shelf ? Are we seeking only our own safety or are we considering those less fortunate through Christ's eyes?
This current pandemic gives us an opportunity to live Christ's love and compassion not just read about it.
Matthew 25:40

And the King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of Mine, you did for Me.’

Famine and war had recently afflicted the city of Caesarea, so when the plague hit in the early fourth-century, the populace was already weakened and unable to withstand this additional blow. The populace began fleeing the city, one of the larger ones of the Roman Empire, for safety in the countryside. However, in the midst of the fleeing inhabitants, at least one group was staying behind, the Christians. As bishop of the city and a historian of the early church, Eusebius, recorded in “The Church History” that during the plague,
All day long some of them [the Christians] tended to the dying and to their burial, countless numbers with no one to care for them. Others gathered together from all parts of the city a multitude of those withered from famine and distributed bread to them all.
Eusebius goes on to state that because of their compassion in the midst of the plague, the Christians’ “deeds were on everyone’s lips, and they glorified the God of the Christians.

Chances are that if you are reading this post you are a child of God, a follower of Christ, Justified through faith in the precious gift of God, his son Christ Jesus who loved us completely even to the cross and the shedding of his blood. In Christ we are redeemed and justified not by any works of our own. Blessed to be called by grace and mercy.
We who have been redeemed are called to pray and intercede!
I am asking all who read this to set aside some additional moments of your day to do just that . Let's pray ! Pray for the Holy Spirit to move in your lives and hearts, pray for our families, pray for our communities, our leaders . Pray for courage to speak God's truth, pray for wisdom in his word!
Pray that he guide us to that lost soul who is ripe to experience God's love and grace!
Pray that God revive yet again our hearts!
I truly believe that great revivals begin with revival of individual hearts seeking God through prayer and intercession.
May God's will be known in all of us!

Just a thought...
Spiritual fatigue? You are not alone. Trust in Jesus in his word and promises

Mathew 11:28-30
Come to me / all you who are weary and heavy laden / and I will give you rest /
Take my yoke upon you / and learn from me / for I am gentle and lowly at heart /
And you will find rest for your souls
For my yoke is easy / and my burden is light.

Come= command - requires a response

Who commands = Jesus - Prince of peaceWho is he addressing EVERYONE who is weary, tired, burdened, ALL!
His followers as well as those who would be

With Christ there is always a reward for obedience
If we obey / respond to his call we will know rest / peace
John 14: 27
27Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid
Take my yoke upon you
Once again a command requiring action / response
Be prepared to do your share
Yoke is devised for two - Christ will take every step with you, carry every load with you, move every tree stump

When you are struggling are you putting on your own yoke? Doing things your way?
Every morning , every day we need to yoke with Christ

Learn from me = another command requiring action
Christ is the ultimate mentor
He found peace in prayer
Strength in the Scripture
Guided by the Holy Spirit

I am gentle and humble in heart
Christ is love , he is a gentleman. He knocks he waits he welcomes our needs

You will find rest for your soul - " It is finished" He did the Work on the cross
We are sanctified -set apart
We are justified - proved to be right in God's eyes through Christ's blood
We are transformed - made new
We are Adopted - legal right to inheritance of the father
Adopted = displaying the attributes of the father

For my yoke is easy
Gods commands are holy
he is the good shepherd

My burden is light
Christ will equip you
Hebrews 13:20-21
20Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, 21equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Ponder this a yoke was put on oxen to plow the fields , to prepare the soil for harvest, and to pull the carts that carried the harvested goods.
A rested worker gathers more harvest

Acts 26: 13-19
12In this pursuit, I was on my way to Damascus with the authority and commission of the chief priests. 13About noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, shining around me and my companions. 14We all fell to the ground, and I heard a voice say to me in Aramaic,a‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me? It is hard for you to kick against the goads.’
15‘Who are You, Lord?’ I asked.
‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ the Lord replied. 16‘But get up and stand on your feet. For I have appeared to you to appoint you as a servant and as a witness of what you have seen from Me and what I will show you. 17I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles. I am sending you to them 18to open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those sanctified by faith in Me.’
19So then, King Agrippa, I was not disobedient to the heavenly vision.

Paul resisted , then was obedient to the call from Christ
In obedience he was saved - given rest, made a servant, preached the gospel ,opened the eyes of the blind and lost, was used by God to allow others to be sanctified and have access to Christ's inheritance,

28Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth Does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable.
29He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power.
30Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly,
31Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

Dear lord
There are times like these where I have no words. Will you please just listen to my heart......

Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.
