Today our SALT ministry enjoyed a Christmas cookie exchange and "Miracle on 34th Street." Such a good time of fellowship and, believe it or not, several in our group had never seen the classic 1947 version of "Miracle on 34th Street." It was a treat to watch it again :-)

Our SALT group went cruising up the St. John's River yesterday on the Barbara Lee paddlewheel rivership. We had a great group on a trip, and it was a beautiful (if a little hot) day. We had a fantastic day of fellowship, beautiful scenery along the river, a great lunch and some live 70's music!

Come join us on Thursday, March 27th at 11:30 am for lunch and a concert with award-winning gospel artist and guitarist, Richard Kiser. He and his wife Denise will be performing some of your favorite gospel music at Southside Assembly of God, 4750 Cleveland Heights Blvd. in Lakeland. Prior to the concert, we will enjoy a box lunch catered by Publix. Suggested donation of $10 to help defer the cost of lunch and travel expenses for the Kisers.

This Sunday we will be celebrating Pastor Appreciation Month by bringing a card or note for our pastors and leaving it in the basket in the lobby. Let's honor the pastors who give so much of their time and energy to our church and who pray for us and lead us in our walk as disciples of Christ.

Our group had a great time today having lunch at Reececliff's Family Diner and then going on a tour of the Norman Rockwell and NC Wyeth exhibit at Polk Museum of Art today! Thanks to Jan Hurndon for a great tour!

Our SALT (50+ Senior Adult Life Today) Ministry hosted its first event of the new year with a potluck lunch for our SALTees and new people to Southside AG. We had a ton of great food and a wonderful time of fellowship. Next Southside SALT Ministry event is a trip to Fancy Farms for strawberry shortcake!
