Korean Shamanism, also known as 무속신앙 or Mugyo, is an initiatory indigenous shamanic tradition of Korea. It has adapted and absorbed multiple elements of Buddhism and Taoism. Korean shaman-priests (called manshin, mudang, bosal or paksu) must all become initiated through the Naerimk*t - a special, huge grand ceremony, in which we accept our vocation and gods. Mudang are intermediaries between the spirits and the humans. We perform grand ceremonies (k*t) & prayer rituals in order to bring about change, such as curing illnesses, exorcisms, and bringing good fortune and marital happiness and much more.
