Korean Shamanism, also known as 무속신앙 or Mugyo, is an initiatory indigenous shamanic tradition of Korea. It has adapted and absorbed multiple elements of Buddhism and Taoism. Korean shaman-priests (called manshin, mudang, bosa

l or paksu) must all become initiated through the Naerimk*t - a special, huge grand ceremony, in which we accept our vocation and gods. Mudang are intermediaries between the spirits and the humans. We perform grand ceremonies (k*t) & prayer rituals in order to bring about change, such as curing illnesses, exorcisms, and bringing good fortune and marital happiness and much more.

Prayer ritual during 칠월칠석 (7 day of the 7th month festival). We celebrate 견우 (Herd Boy) and 직녀 (Weaver Girl). If you happen to see a spiderweb after, she may have heard your prayers. Each linen dedicated to a person - if I realized the time of the year, I would've prepared more candles and white skein in advance! Maybe I will take down requests next year. ☺️
