Korean Shamanism, also known as 무속신앙 or Mugyo, is an initiatory indigenous shamanic tradition of Korea. It has adapted and absorbed multiple elements of Buddhism and Taoism. l or paksu) must all become initiated through the Naerimk*t - a special, huge grand ceremony, in which we accept our vocation and gods. Mudang are intermediaries between the spirits and the humans. We perform grand ceremonies (k*t) & prayer rituals in order to bring about change, such as curing illnesses, exorcisms, and bringing good fortune and marital happiness and much more.

Digimon the Movie is SO nostalgic with great songs. I was one of those kids who loved pokemon, digimon, monster rancher, zoids, dragon ball, as well as sailor moon, cardcaptor sakura, and other shoujo style Manga and anime. Back then, you never saw Korean or Chinese entertainment - even kdramas were hard to come by!

I'm amazed by how open accessibility everything from so many cultures are today. That is the point I strive for too. My heroes from my childhood have always stuck with me - fighting for justice and the people's rights.

I stand FOR the rights of women, BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, disabled and neurodivergent people. I have loved ones that are in each community as I myself am as well. In these groups, there is large income disparity as well as QOL/situations that makes it difficult for things others take for granted - being able to travel, and still have income for bills. Should healing, acceptance, and connection be locked away because of this? No. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Korean heritage box to hold the Samsung Buds. It's been about 5 years since my last pair, so I decided it was time to finally get another pair as I've been using them much more frequently these days.

I was thrilled to see that Samsung offered the heritage box to hold the buds case within. The other option was a dancheong style box, which I also liked but the overall look of it was too plasticy for me.

I'm very pleasantly surprised by the new features on these. 🥰 I'll look into how recording sounds as well!

Another day of ceremony in which the gods appeared and made themselves known. Not everyone can do this, and he's to be able to discern between the trickster spirits, masquerading spirits and ghosts.

I'm a semitraditional mudang since 2017 (well, hypertraditional the first few years from 2017). Am I too modern for some? yup. Am I still too traditional even for others? yup.
I don't know everything. I continue to learn everyday. There's plenty out there who know better than me - except about my life, and what I don't share on social media. I don't share the vast majority of things in my life.

I'm a human being. I'm AuDHD with my own issues navigating life. I was a practicing witch since 2001, I was an Aphrodite devotee then a Kemetic Orthodoxy Shemsu, and then had to answer my calling.

There are people out there saying an initiation ceremony isn't even needed - just do a spirit initiation with yourself. There are people out there who are reclaiming mudang as a title, versus a sacred role. There are people out there, never gone through initiation ceremony, and using mudang sacred tools as if it's something to pick up like tarot. There are people out there who say 90% of mudang are shams, even those having hypertraditional style initiation ceremony and five years under a spirit mother.
There are people out there who only have a problem with the above because they think it's about me.

Why do we have patches on our ceremonial garb?

They are a sign, a message - of the spirits with us. it's not just about color and style. These are two of my Mountain god ceremonial garb. The cranes indicate a higher position of authority by my ancestors, the white leopard indicates power and strength owned by my deities. Generally the patches are done a certain way with older traditional style artistry. My leopard patch was custom made and more modernized, showing the adaptation of current times and my practice.

My gods and their shrine is so peaceful and calm. Lights on or off, I'm happiest praying to them in the 천별신당 - Heavenly Stars Shrine. Blessed I am as their shaman-priest 무당, and blessed are the people who seek their guidance and assistance 🥹🙏🏻
