For every parent carrying a few extra worries today. โค๏ธ
You bought the supplies. You filled out the forms. You packed the lunch, checked the backpack, and took the first-day picture.
But sending your child through those school doors still requires a kind of courage no supply list can prepare you for.
Maybe your little one is starting school for the first time.
Maybe your child is walking into a new building where they donโt know anyone yet.
Maybe last year was difficult, and youโre praying this year will be gentler.
Or maybe your child is growing up faster than your heart is ready for, and today you had to smile, wave, and let go, at least a little.
For whatever you and your child are feeling:
โDo not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.โ
โ Philippians 4:6
โI can do all this through Christ who gives me strength.โ
โ Philippians 4:13
โWalk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.โ
โ Proverbs 13:20
Lord, please watch over my child today.
Calm their fears and help them remember that they are never alone. Give them confidence to be themselves, courage to do what is right, and kindness toward every person they meet.
Place caring teachers, wise friends, and safe people in their path. Help them learn, grow, ask questions, and keep trying when something feels difficult.
Guard their heart and mind. And when Iโm tempted to worry about everything I cannot control, remind me that my child is always within Your reach.
Give us both peace for this new beginning.
Amen.
