Have you ever thought about your words as an order at a restaurant? 🍜
In our latest Dharma talk at Kula Shofukuji, we explored how the things we say shape the reality we experience. In Shingon Buddhism, the mystical power of words is a central teaching left by Kobo Daishi.

If we constantly complain, the universe serves us more complaints. But if we speak our hopes and dreams, the universe serves us a beautiful future! What kind of future are you ordering today? 🌺

Do you ever feel like you only want to do good things when people are watching? 🫣 In our social media age, we constantly seek "Likes" and validation. But true compassion is silent. 🤫

While working my second job cleaning swimming pools in the hot Maui summer, a beautiful J-POP lyric reminded me of the Buddha’s profound love: "May I protect you, without you ever knowing." This is the heart of Shingon Buddhism—Muen no Jihi (Unconditional Compassion) and Intoku (Hidden Virtue). The Buddhas protect us every single day behind the scenes, never asking for a "Thank you."

Let us carry this beautiful, silent love into our community this week. Can you do one small act of kindness today without letting anyone know? 🕊️✨

Do you ever feel pressured to be perfect? With the rise of AI, we are surrounded by flawless data.

But in Shingon Buddhism, we celebrate our "KATAYORI"—our natural imbalance, biases, and quirks! Think of your favorite local mango bread—it tastes so good because of a specific, non-average recipe.

In the sacred Mandala, every Buddha is a specialist. They don't try to do everything; they focus on their unique strengths to help us. Your individuality is your personal Mandala. Embrace your unique light today!
