Jesus considered prayer more important than food or sleep. He arose early in the morning to pray and often prayed all night. Jesus prayed at funerals and the dead were raised. He prayed over five loaves and two fish and a multitude was fed. Noah prayed and was told how to build the ark. Daniel prayed and was delivered from the lions. Elijah prayed and the fire of God came down from heaven. The disciples prayed and three thousand people were added to the church. There is power in fervent prayer.

It wasn’t the nails in Jesus’ hands that held Him on the cross, but rather the Father’s will and the Savior’s love. The Jewish people complained to God about the food they were forced to eat in the wilderness. Every morning they found small white flakes on the ground and asked, “Manna?” In their language “manna” meant, “What is it?” Moses told them that it was food from heaven and they were to eat it every day for nourishment. Jesus is our Bread (our spiritual food) who came down from heaven to provide life eternal for our hungering souls. Jesus said, "I am the Bread (manna) of life" (John 6:35).

One day I was walking with Jesus when we came to a bridge. I asked Him if I could hold His hand because I was afraid of falling into the river. “It’s much better if you let Me hold your hand,” the Lord replied. Surprised at this answer, I asked, “What’s the difference?” And then Jesus explained, “If you hold My hand and something happens, you might let go. But if I hold your hand, no matter what happens, I will never let go of you.”

Jesus points out the way and says, "This is the way, walk ye in it." Jesus also proclaims that He is the Way. He illuminates the way to the Father and announces that no one can come to the Father except by Him. Do you want to find your way to the Father? Then you must recognize Jesus as the Savior of the world, the One who has prepared the way before us and declares that we must enter through our belief in Him. He is the Door. He is the Way. He is the Truth. He is the Life.

Jacob stopped for the night, put a stone under his head and went to sleep. In a dream, he saw a stairway with angels going up and down. The stairway is symbolic of Jesus who has bridged heaven and earth. He is truly God and truly Man and unites us with the Father. When Jacob awoke, he declared, “God has met me here. This is the entrance to heaven.” It is only through Jesus that we have access to heaven.

"Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him glory! For the wedding of the Lamb has come and His bride has made herself ready" (Revelation 19:7). Believers in Jesus are the bride of Christ and we wait with great anticipation for the day when we will be united with our Bridegroom. The disciples asked Jesus what would be the sign of His coming and the end of the world. Jesus warned them not to be deceived saying, “There will be wars and rumors of wars, as well as famines, pestilences and earthquakes. These things are just the beginning, but he that endures to the end shall be saved. And after those days will the Son of man come in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory and send His angels to gather those who believe. A Pharisee named Nicodemus came to Jesus asking about the kingdom of God. Jesus told him, "Unless you are born again, you cannot see the kingdom of God." Nicodemus asked. “How can you be born again when you are old? No one can enter a second time into their mother’s womb.” Jesus replied that no one can enter the kingdom of God without a natural birth and a spiritual birth. The same night that the Lord Jesus was betrayed, He took bread. And when He had given thanks, He broke it and said, “Take and eat it. This is My body which is broken for you. Do this in remembrance of Me.” Then He also took the cup saying, “This cup represents the new covenant that has been established through My blood. Whenever you drink it, do it in remembrance of Me. Among the crowd surrounding Jesus was a woman who had been bleeding for twelve years. She had seen many doctors and spent all her money seeking a cure. Because of the nature of her infirmity, she was considered unclean. Crawling through the crowd, she reached out and touched the hem of Jesus' garment. Immediately her bleeding stopped. Jesus asked, “Who touched Me? I felt power go from Me.” The woman confessed that she had been healed. Jesus replied, “Your faith has healed you. Go in peace.”
