Capitol Commission Tennessee

Capitol Commission Tennessee Serving public servants and the Capitol Community of Tennessee through Bible Study, prayer support, counsel and chaplaincy across party lines.

The Tennessee General Assembly just completed the first half of the 114th Legislative Session last week. It was an intense and busy Session beginning with the special Session called for by Governor Bill Lee. In spite of that, they were able to complete their essential work by the end of April.

I was with them all the way serving as the ministry of Capitol Commission/Tennessee, providing chaplaincy care, Bible studies both in person and written for every member of both Senate and House each week, distributing a copy of the study in leadership from the book of Nehemiah to every office. I also offered an in person study for the staff as well.

Additionally, each week it was my privilege to secure speakers for Wednesday morning Devotions, attended by Members, Staff, and lobbyists. It is always a great challenge and encouragement to have speakers from within the Legislature as well as from around the State. One of the highlights this year was to have Dave Ramsey speak and also Brad Gray, the teacher and founder of Walking the Text, who led as our tour guide on a life-changing study trip last August to Turkey, which was where I met Dave.

Below is a video explanation of this year round ministry. Please prayerfully consider partnering with us financially to continue this vital ministry that spiritually challenges, equips and encourages public servants!

Capitol Commission Tennessee has the privilege to invite speakers for the weekly Devotions held at the Cordell Hill Legislative Building. Each Wednesday morning, all Members of the General Assembly, staff and lobbyists are invited to receive a dose of biblical encouragement through men and women of God who share from life experiences and biblical truth. Dr Daryl Crouch, founder and director of Everyone’s Wilson has been with us in each of the last few years and is a favorite because of his humble, gracious and clear insights that speak to the needs and heart of people in leadership.
Pray with us for this important way that Legislators can be encouraged and challenged to keep God as their first priority, even in matters of government!
