With sadness, we share the passing of Joyce A. Reavis (Killeen, Texas). Joyce, born on May 10, 1940, passed away on June 13, 2026.

Family, friends, and acquaintances remember Joyce for her warmth, thoughtfulness, and the moments shared together. While she will be deeply missed, the influence she had on the lives around her remain. Loved ones will reflect on the time spent together. Joyce’s memory will live on in the hearts of friends and family, a lasting reminder of the connections and experiences she brought to the world.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church (3801 Cunningham Rd, Killeen, TX 76542). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, June 18th 2026 at the Tobey Cemetery.

We were sadly informed of the passing of Sherrie Broyles. While she will not be buried at Tobey, we wanted to express our deepest sympathies to her immediate family and friends.

Sherrie LaRue Broyles Sherrie LaRue Broyles, 78, of Cherokee, TX. passed away at her home surrounded by loved ones on January 28, 2026. Sherrie was born on September 29, 1947 in Lampasas, TX. to Leonard Barton and Dorothy Ellen Reavis. She started school in Oakalla, TX. after the school closed

Wish great sadness, we were informed of the passing of Edith Gail Carpenter Adams. Arrangements were entrusted to Crawford Bowers Funeral Home. She will be buried at Tobey Cemetery in a graveside service on Monday February 2, 2026 at 2:00 pm. No visitation is planned. She is to be buried by her long-time husband, Ronda Adams. A formal obituary will be forthcoming. Edith was Janice and Ellsworth Carpenter’s daughter. Janice was the only child of Ruby Tabitha Reavis Wells. Ruby was the second child of seven in the Herd Reavis Family that lived within sight of the cemetery.

Today, April 26, 2025 was a nice day for the annual work day and meeting at the Tobey Cemetery near Oakalla. We went over some new business that was necessary, replaced some failed signs, added a new sign with the rules for burials and cleaned up the cemetery. I am grateful to everyone who attended and assisted in this effort. I am also grateful to all of those who donate annually to provide the perpetual care for those interred here. This cemetery and all others represent those who came before us and made possible what each of us enjoy today.

The 2025 annual Cemetery work day is Saturday, April 26, 2025 at 9:00 AM. Maintenance and improvements to the cemetery will begin at 9:00 with a meeting at 11:00 AM with a pot luck lunch after that.
