A PRAYER FOR MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

Heavenly Father, this weekend our memories go back to those who have died to preserve our nation’s liberties. You raised up brave men and women and gave them the determination to sacrifice everything for us, the citizens of the United States of America. Comfort those who grieve their deaths with your promise that those who die in the Lord will rise again. Move us, the living, to be diligent in our prayers for our nation and her leaders. Help us to be the light that reflects Christ in the way we interact with our fellow citizens, so that many more may know and believe that your sacrifice brings true freedom and everlasting life. In your Son’s name we pray. Amen.

Heavenly Father, as another school year draws to a close for many and soon for many others—We praise you! Thank you for teachers who love you and help our kids stand in awe of your design for life. Thank you for the gifts of fun and compassion that are given in friendship. Thank you for remaining unchanged when we reach milestones that require changes of us. Help us to abide in you no matter where the summer and next school year lead us. Amen.

As you begin this next chapter, remember that God goes before you in all things. Wherever life takes you, continue to shine His light and use your gifts to serve others.
