Seldovia Outreach for Young Adults and Teens: Julie Heckert gathered a group of young adults and teens from our Kenai parish to provide some much needed work at the St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church in Seldovia last month. On Saturday, the group removed the old chain link fence and four outdoor lights which originally illuminated the church but have since broken. Everyone attended the evening vespers service on Saturday and Divine Liturgy on Sunday morning. The group had a chance to explore Seldovia on Sunday afternoon before they headed back to Homer early evening. Thank you Ginny & Maurice Glenn for your hospitality!

At the Threshold of Eternity: A Lenten Retreat with Archbishop Alexei

Great Lent is a time set apart for repentance, prayer, and the renewal of the soul.

This year, His Eminence Archbishop Alexei invites the faithful to a Lenten retreat reflecting on The Fearsome Judgment and the Mercy of Christ. Using a striking 18th-century Moscow broadside depicting the Fearsome Judgment of God, His Eminence will explore both the historical meaning of this image and the profound spiritual lessons it offers Orthodox Christians today.

What does it mean to stand at the threshold of eternity? How should the reality of the Last Judgment shape the way we live, repent, and prepare our hearts for Christ?

Join Archbishop Alexei for this powerful Lenten reflection as we seek to deepen our repentance and renew our hope in the mercy of God.

📍 See the poster for dates and locations in Kenai, Anchorage, and Fairbanks.

All are welcome.
