Good Morning, Destiny Family đź’ś
During my personal devotional time this morning, the Lord began ministering to my heart about thanksgiving and our awareness of His presence.
The morning began in Psalm 121:1–2:
“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.” (KJV)
As I reflected on looking to the hills and remembering where my help comes from, my spirit began to resound with a simple expression:
“Lord, I thank You.”
From there, I was reminded of 1 Thessalonians 5:17–19—“Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks… Quench not the Spirit.”
I began thinking about how thanksgiving changes our posture. It doesn’t mean everything around us is perfect, nor does it deny the difficult things we may be facing. But when we intentionally turn our hearts toward God in thanksgiving, our attention shifts from what is happening around us to Who is present with us in it.
I’ve personally noticed how peace can begin to invade even the ordinary areas of life that once felt overwhelming when my heart remains thankful before the Lord.
That’s what I felt led to share with Destiny Ministries today.
Look up. Remember your Help. Give thanks.
When you don’t understand—Lord, I thank You.
When you’re waiting—Lord, I thank You.
When the answer comes—Lord, I thank You.
When life is good—Lord, I thank You.
And when life is difficult, we can still say “Lord, I thank You,” because our thanksgiving is ultimately rooted not merely in our circumstances, but in who God is.
My prayer for Destiny Ministries is that we will be a people who pray continually, give thanks in everything, and remain sensitive to the Holy Spirit.
May we learn to recognize God’s presence in the ordinary moments of our lives and remember:
Prayer keeps the conversation going.
Thanksgiving keeps our hearts turned toward Him.
And the Holy Spirit teaches us how to walk the road.
Today, take a moment and simply tell Him:
“Lord, I thank You.” 🙏🏽💜
