Every year, countless churches pack shoeboxes for children in need across our globe. Excelsior Springs Baptist Church is blessed to be one of those churches. Every year we pack 1100 boxes to be delivered to needy children!!! Sometimes these boxes are the only presents they will receive in their childhood. These boxes are driven in a vehicle, flown on a plane, ride on a train, and in some remote areas...are taken by boat to land and taken on a donkey to reach a remote area where there is a child/children who needs a reminder...we love them!! BUT the most important part is after the present....the children then have a 12 lesson teaching of the gospel of Jesus!! Win win....a fun box of goodies and our Saviour!!! All throughout the year at Excelsior Springs Baptist Church, we work on our items to pack in the boxes. We work at the church and in our homes, keeping in mind these sweet children.
Samaritan's Purse would like us to pay $10.00 per box to get them to where they need to be. For us, yes, that's $11,000 yearly. The intention of this garage sale and coming events is to make a dent in that amount. Come out September 8th and 9th, Excelsior's City Wide Garage Sale weekend!!
