A delightful gathering unfolded yesterday as the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary convened for a luncheon meeting. The event was graced by Vivien Jennings, owner of Rainy Day Books, who shared with attendees.

At this occasion, Major Heather Montenegro officiated the installation of the new officers for the Auxiliary.

Moreover, the prestigious Madeline C. Wrobley Volunteering with Passion Award was given to Carol Crouch, recognizing her unwavering dedication and passion for service.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary of Kansas City has dedicated their time and talents to serve those in need.

We’re walking into 2024 with hearts and mind ready to build hope with faith in the community we serve.

The need in the Kansas City Metro area for children and their families continues to grow. Costs, such as housing, utilities, transportation, food and basic essentials, keep rising.

Seeking to help children in need and their families is the Women’s Auxiliary special focus this year. One ministry we are are supporting is the Salvation Army’s Three Trails Camp located in Independence, Missouri.

This camp, which is open to all children and youth in the metro area, serves about 1,000 youth and children each year by providing a nurturing and life-changing Christian camp experience.

Campers enjoy a variety of activities, such as the rock-climbing wall, the adventure swing, outdoor laser tag, archery, swimming, nature trails and crafts. Many of the children arrive without the basics needed for camp, such as proper shoes, bedding, toiletries, etc.

Our goal is to provide financial assistance to help meet these needs, offer scholarships and other supplies necessary for a “Time of Our Lives” camp experience.

Please join us in “Building Hope with Faith” to make a profound difference in the lives of children and their families in Kansas City.

Some of the lovely ladies of the The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary headed to GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium to attend The Salvation Army's 2023 Down For The Challenge Civic Breakfast. Kansas City Chiefs Announcer Mitch Holthus and Super Bowl LIV Champion Dustin Colquitt were featured speakers. The William Booth Award was presented to the hardworking Barbara Elliot and the Others Award was presented to FedEx for their generosity this past year. All of this was topped off with a delicious breakfast and generous donations for Kansas City's houseless community. These ladies were proud to be part of such a successful event!

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary Spring Luncheon was a wonderful success! Our newest Auxiliary Officers took their places as leaders and the Madeline C Robley Volunteering with Passion Award was granted to the lovely Donna Muiller; a true servant of the Lord. Three Trails Camp & Retreat Center received piles of generous donations for summer camp kids in need!
Special thanks to the Milburn Country Club for hosting with their gorgeous venue and delicious food!

The annual Women's Auxiliary Christmas Tea was a wonderful success this year! Old and new friends came together to celebrate all the hard work they do for The Salvation Army in Kansas & Western Missouri. We're grateful for all that these wonderful women do and hope the organization continues to prosper for many years to come!

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary's is looking to raise money for Three Trails Camp with our 2022 Virtual Omelet Brunch; our yearly tradition! Camp is open to all kids in the metro, but many often arrive without essential supplies. Proceeds will go towards providing these children with proper shoes, sheets for their beds, enough food for camp's duration, etc. The Women's Auxiliary is determined to give these children a summer to remember!

The Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary will be continuing our yearly tradition with our 2022 Virtual Omelet Brunch. This year we will be collecting donations to support the children of Three Trails Camp. The camp is open to all children throughout the Metro area, but some arrive without the basics needed for camp such as proper shoes, bedding, etc. Our goal is to provide financial assistance to help meet these needs and contribute to the programming needed to make the camp experience a life changing memory.

The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary is a group of women ambassadors who want nothing more than to see their community prosper. Since its founding in 1951 it has grown to almost 200 women. These women offer their services in the Kansas City area with food distribution, disaster relief, ringing bells and staffing the Angel Tree Program at Christmas, assisting vulnerable adults, and so much more, simply because they care!
