A fresh year ~ 2025. Today is a precious gift.

Behind the glitz and glamour,
behind the lights and tinsel,
behind the gifts and feasting,
is a story better told
of a humble man and woman,
cattle and a manger,
angels and shepherds,
a murderous king and star gazing magi.
This story isn’t about a season
of celebration.
It is the story of a broken
and groaning world,
breaking under the weight of sin,
iniquity’s footprints everywhere,
the promise of eternal life.
This story isn’t about gift-giving
human love.
It is the story of stories,
about divine love.
God, on center stage,
unwilling to let his world,
the creatures made in his image,
live in sin’s destructive grip.
This story is about the zeal
of perfectly holy anger,
the divine determination
to act in justice
to right sin’s wrong,
not by unleashing divine judgement,
but by pouring out divine mercy.
The story is of the eternal
plan of grace,
exploding into history,
in the night shadows of Bethlehem,
An unremarkable woman
was chosen to be willing
to do what had never
before been done,
to give birth to
the earth’s only hope,
the God man,
the Messiah,
Son of God,
Son of man,
Emmanuel.
Jesus,
the better Adam,
the sacrificial lamb,
the conquering King the Savior.
Behind the glitz and glamour,
behind the lights and tinsel,
behind the gifts and feasting,
is a story better told,
of amazing grace
come to earth
in the gift of the son.
He came with blessing in his hands,
the power to do what no human
could conceive of doing.
Through his righteous life,
atoning sacrifice,
victorious resurrection and
royal priestly ascension,
he would not only
provide forgiveness for sin,
liberation from
transgressions grip,
reconciliation to God,
but he ultimately came
to do one final thing,
redemption’s final fix,
something that only
the one who made everything
could have the power to do.
With the Creator’s power and
the Savior’s grace
he will one day
make all things new.

We finished up strong with our Surviving Holidays session which included encouragement and hope for the future. PLEASE ~ check back here for calendar of sessions starting in 2025. An enormous thank you to our ministry team of 8 for all the many roles you play each year and to JFBC for funding and hosting GriefShare.

GS is a Christian based support program for individuals going through losses. Our team host each session by caring for each individual with concern, prayer, small group discussions, refreshments and dvd led topics.

Each session is dvd led by trained and well known professionals from all over the US who have dealt with death. Jump in at any point to get help as you heal and adjust to your losses. No need to register. Friends and family members 18 and over will be welcomed. We have security and distancing space plus confidentiality in place every time we meet.
